Why does this have to be one or the other when clearly a blend is the best answer.

Yer alright, kid. My point for you is that one day you will be surprised what your body will or won't do. "Listen to me now and hear me later!" - Hans and Franz.

My point is that, yes, there is a diffrence between how your muscles break down and adapt and you will experience that difference sometime after the age of 24. My note about ruck marching being both weight trg and cardio (which it is) was meant to highlight the silliness of the premise of this thread overall (as detailed in my second long post). IMO the best way to train for boxing is more or less how you do it - anaerobic endurance plus power - except, be aware that the fast twitch muscles are much more prone to growth than the slow-twitch.

I guarantee you, in 10 years you will want to buy me a beer becuse you'll be over 200 lbs. If you aren't over 200 lbs at 5'11" at age 28, having lifted weights for 15 years, you might want to get yourself checked out, medically speaking.

Having said all that, you know a lot more about your body than I did at you age. But maybe at my age I know more about your body than you do? ;)

Your probably right, I'll see how things happen in the future and adjust for what's happening at the time.

Ya fast twitch have the best potential for growth especially type B, type A are less likely and don't wear out as fast. That is one concern of mine, gaining too much fast twitch type b muscle through weight training which would screw over my endurance. As said with that I definately agree with your analysis on boxing training and enjoy your ruck sack analogy (sorry for the earlier confusion).

It sounds a bit creepy but you may very well know more about my body than I do.
