No thought about it but id rather just concentrate on technique when the gloves are on , and strength training ect when they arnt
To be honest mate im no expert but thats what im gunna do as a begginer to the sport. Maybe someone with more experience will be able to help you but im happy with my 16 oz, on the other hand the ones the are 16 oz that have removable weights arnt bad i suppose as they are 16 oz and you can change as you please
Forget the weighted gloves as they affect your neuromuscular system come fight time. Same reasoning behind why you should not wear weighted vests for sport specific training.
Something i read that implies weighted bats and other such devices used for sport specific training affect your system in a way that impairs your game time performance. It's a bit hard to explain as i am working out and the article is upstairs.:good
You don't need weighted gloves but I like to have 2.5 weights strapped around my wrists when I'm doing moving drills for example, under the rope, and shadow boxing drills. This drill is good after a full hour of hard training since you are already tired and want to drop your hards. If drill hard, keep you hands up, you will work the critical muscles and train your body to keep your hands up when they are weighted down and tired.
Plus too much weight when punching could hurt your elbow. And if you try to hold back the punches to prevent injury you could damage your technique. I never really liked the idea of weighted gloves. We have them at our gym but I don't like gloves that are used by other people. I'm a germ freak.
I read your article. Look... purchase new gloves, and buy a dozen good wraps that are at least 180 inches. If you sweat a lot put the gloves in front of a fan after working out. The dryer will kill them.
