Has anyone noticed, in the first round of Ellis-Frazier I, that the ref is moving around a LOT? Not just in his usual, active way, but actually jumping and running around the ring? Did he make a bet? Miss his morning run? Want to set the record for most distracting referee? I guess we'll never know.

What other strange things have you noticed in fights that you have no explanation for?

The between rounds brawl early in the rematch between Mike Rossman's brother (a second) and Victor Galindez's handlers, with distracted Mike and prompted him to rush over to intervene as he was on his way to his corner. It probably didn't do Mike's concentration and focus on his own battle that night any good.

Refs always did that in the good old days, but then they found out that it looked stupid on TV.

I can't imagine many modern refs moving that much for one round, then alone 15.

    Joe Cortez.

Whenever I edit fights onto disc I always put a chapter mark at the start of every round. And everytime its Cortez hes there in the middle of the ring acting like hes holding back the Red Sea so Moses can cross.

:lol: yes, i see what you mean, how distracting! A good fight and i found myself watching the referee. Even when he was off screen I was waiting for him to come flying across with that sort of hop, skip and running all at the same time routine.
I'm gonna look up some more of his fights.
