Ironically, the very first fight I ever scored was this one also.

VHS video. I remember playing it, pausing between rounds to write down my score, and then pressing play again.

First time I ever scored it, I had it 6-6.

This would have been back when Jermain Taylor was MW champion.

Back in 2006.

Marked the very beginning of my journey into being a proper boxing fan. As in a fan of the sport, not the sports star.

 

I am not a very good scorer, so unless i have a strong feeling & reason for making a conclusion, I trust & weigh other's judgements more.
I am skeptical about the possibility of the illusion of victory when a fighter rallies in no more than the last 1/6th of many rounds, but loses the rest of a round. SRL did some of that.

However bad Hagler looked, the question is did he do enough to win or not.
One judge finding against him 118-110 seems indefensible.

Ollie, why do you label this thread "beginner's"?
And if you can add a poll based upon assessments of who won that would be ideal.
