168 peaked around the Super Six days, only natural for it to be in crisis when the top guys from that are either retired or have moved onto better things.

I think most of you guys have been barking up the wrong tree with all this talk of GGG moving up to SMW. The real deal is to sign Bivol and move him DOWN to SMW. Within four years he'd clean the division and reign for at least six more!

I agree that 168 is weak at the moment but since the 90's it has been very strong for the most part. We had the short period where RJJ was campaigning there, then the Calzaghe dominance era, then the Super 6 era. It's just re-building itself at the moment. Give it a year or so and it will be fine. Getting rid of 168 is just plain stupid. Fighters have to make 160 or 175???? That is one hell of a jump in weight. For professional fighters who are able to fine tune their weight by a few pounds, having that much of a gap is just dumb.

On a side note, as much as I enjoy reading your posts CST, I have to disagree with you regarding Callum Smith. I think he is a real talent that is going to do some serious damage at this weight. I would pick him over any 168 fighter in the world right now. Obviously I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but that's my opinion and I have confidence he is going to do very well.

I was still on the fence about Callum when I did this thread, but I am warming to him since his destruction of Hadillah, which impressed the hell out of me. He had a few weak performances against Rebrasse and Sjekloca, but he's really come out guns blazing in his last two matches, so I agree with you now, he is one of the best in the division at this point.:good

DeGale struggled at times with Mohoumedi and went 12, yet look at what Callum did to him.

No I dont... Smith couldn't have performed as well as Jack did against Bute or Groves...:deal And progressing from domestic level doesn't mean he's ready for world level.
