Just back from the fight and it was a **** result but that's life:conf Haye,Calzaghe and Hatton made it a great year for British boxing. Just a pity Hatton couldn't get the win. He got strategically taken apart, he started off with a lot of head movement in the 1st couple of rounds and wasn't getting caught with a lot of shots but as the fight went on he forgot all about it and started eating shots to try and get close. He just seemed too up for it if you know what I mean, he was desperate to get close and when he did the accuracy just wasn't their. Was trying to walk through punches when it was obvious Mayweather was hurting him. But the bottom line is he was KO'd by a better fighter. Well done Khan that was a very impressive stoppage against Earl. He's coming along well and hope a lot of people start getting off his back. For a guy who's still young he's doing fine just now. I only seen the fight on youtube but can someone tell me if he used the line ''you don't get paid for overtime''? Well done Calzaghe and Calzaghe snr on their awards. Hopefully Calzaghe got a taste for fighting in Vegas when he went to watch Hatton. Would love to go and see a Calzaghe fight in Vegas next. Cheers to all the British boxers for a very fine 2007. Bring on 2008 :bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb
To be honest, watching his new pal Hatton being KO'd by Floyd wouldnt be the best appetiser for fighting in Vegas I would imagine! & what is it with this new anglo-welsh thing going on anyway? Joe & Ricky best of pals & stuff, since when were they bosom buddies anyway?
What bout you Gaz? Did you have a good time? I thought all of you hatton fans would be making threads about your experiences over there, surely some of you ****ers must have a story to tell!
I had a hell of a time mate, if you ever get the chance to go, take it!! I've got a few stories, one involving Enzo Mac....but libel laws being what they are these days........ It won't the last time I go, money permitting.
I was pretty sure Hatton would lose and Calzaghe would win but wasn't sure about the Haye fight so yeah 2/3 is not bad at all. I seem to remember Ricky and Joe putting a on show of being good buddies when they co-headlined FW's Newcastle "two world tidel fights" card.
