Well Deserved Beatings

Holmes-Ali. This is going to be controversial, but I was actually rooting for Ali to at least do well going into that match, while an awful lot of people I knew were long time vehement detractors who wanted to see Larry beat the **** out of him.

I turned on Muhammad when he revealed he tried to use Thyrolar as a PED, and blamed his poor performance on his surreptitious attempt to cheat. (This is akin to Holyfield proclaiming that his loss to Moorer was due to self inflicted steroid induced impairment, and insisting on another chance to redeem himself by not cheating with PED's in their rematch.)

Ali tried to cheat, it backfired miserably, and he paid for it. Furthermore, this wasn't like Panama Lewis with Pryor in Miami, or removing padding from Resto's gloves. Muhammad tried this one entirely on his own, and a number of Muslims have reproached him for his attempt at deception.
