IMO when Kell is back up he looks very suspect, Carson jones gave him kittens but porter/khan/Mayweather ect will open him up and exploit his defencive weaknesses , not get me wrong Kell can more than match them going forward but lacks the hand speed of these guys so won't be able to set himself the way he has against lesser opponents
He is fighting porter not crawford, crawford beat burns... Agree with the rest of this post, Khan has looked poor his last few fights, and whilst he looked sharp tonight, we can't dismiss Brook based on just that one fight against collazo, who himself looked near the end of the road before his win over a 'shot' ortiz. I personally do think Khan would beat Brook, but no more or less after last night.
Billy watch the Carson Jones fight again and come back to me. Kell Boxed his head off for 6 rounds, he completely dominated him and it was an excellent performance for 18 odd minutes. Then he got his nose busted up and got knackered. That's why Jones came back into it. Doubts remain about Kell's stamina, work ethic and intelligence. I would also question whether he can work on the inside. However, he is technically excellent with good accuracy. He is unbeaten and may have several more levels himself. I could say that Julio Diaz gave Khan kittens for 12 rounds! We don't even know what type of fighter Khan was in there with last night. A victory v Ortiz is worth nothing these days and we have nothing to work with aside from that. Remember a 35 year old Shane Mosely schooled Collazo 7 years ago. Collazo is 33 himself now.
Sorry about the above. Crawford = Porter as stgeorge points out. Slip of the tongue and influence of billy!
Hope I've not got to you Mate boxing great for 6 round isn't enough hence Gonzalez quit against Ricky burns, the diffrence between Gonzalez and Carson is Gonzalez is potentially a world class fighter caRson isn't So Kell got a nose bleed and affected him 6 round compare that to a broken jaw for 10 no comparison I'm not dissing Kell I simply think khan beats him very comfortably,Kell hasnt fought anyone callazos calibre and khan will only improve for last night
Stamina maybe be fixable, however it was nothing technical that jones had over brook. Brook hammered him in a rematch. My original gripe was the statement that Brook had no chance. He certainly does have a chance, how much we will know more after the Porter fight.
We won't know how good Brook is until he steps up to the top level, but I'd give him a chance against Porter who is being overrated after a win over Pauli. Khan on the other hand, everyone knows is a decent fighter but a win over Collazo isn't a huge achievement, Collazo has lost every time he stepped up to a higher level, and hasn't really got much knockout power, which is why team Khan picked the fight, to make Khan look even better than he is.
get stuffed fat face... Brook is leagues higher than Burns was or will ever be...but Brook is in one of the best divisions in history where as your boy that sacked you off was the luckiest champion ever from these shores and got smashed the **** out of whenever he stepped up in class... dont mention Gonzalez again because we all know what went on there, like what went on with Beltran too
The world championship belts above Burns mantelpiece suggest otherwise pal.. Whether or not the divisions that burns has fought in are comparably weaker than WW, the fact still remains that Burns has achieved alot more thus far in his weight division than Brook thus far has achieved in his. Can BN not have one conversation that doesn't resort back to Burns-Bashing? Geez it gets old, whether you're right or wrong just get over it :yep The only reason he mentioned Burns in the first place was because he was relating something that he was involved in personally to another current active professional boxer... can you contribute in such a way? We all have opinions, but if you have to just resort to just mindlessly repeating the same things over and over again than you do not come across as very reasonable or even articulate. :bbb
Drastic improvements from Khan. He did very well. Looked a lot better on the back foot. Working with Hunter is starting to pay off. A much needed performance! Having said that, Collazo's choice to block with his face was an interesting one. Also question marks over how much power Khan carries at WW
I doubt he will engage in a rematch at this late stage of his career - personally I don't think it's needed either. Also the main factor will be how many PPVs it shifted for Showtime - I think they will push for Khan now and after last night I think the boxing world will be ok with the fight now.
