Joshua may be able to nab a gold medal if the judges get behind him.

Felt quite bad for the Cuban. He defiantly won for me by least 5+ points.

I'm not going to hate on Joshua. But the judges should take a good look at themselves after making decisions like that. They should be ashamed.

Don't think it was as bad as most of you are making out.Savon ate right hands and jabs with regularity himself.

Still i thought savon did enough to edge all three rounds. He landed too many cuffing right hands over the top.

Joshua clearly lost, the officiating in the boxing has been nothing short of terrible, it's a pity that it's not JUST boxing that seems to have dodgy officiating, you guys should have seen the womens' table tennis final the judge in that ruined an otherwise brilliant spectacle.

    Nobody cares about table tennis.

Olympic heavy/super heavy boxing has seen such stars as Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Steveson, Savon, Lewis and Klitschko make their break through. While any female Olympic sport is just a legal way for 60 year old men to buy tickets to perv at 14 year old girls in barely any clothes.

Savon was robbed, i will be supporting any other super-heavyweight who has legitimately won their first bout! And i hope they beat Joshua.

Maybe I shouldn't mention other sports, but it was an example of the fact that judging and officiating in the Olympics has been sub-standard.

Don't agree with what you say about female Olympic sport. :patsch

  8. **** the shrinking violets in here who make more noise when one of our boys gets lucky than if they get robbed

Joshua got a generous decision on home soil against some random cuban, it happens all the time in amateur boxing, only its usually our boys that get robbed

Let's see if this is a wake up call for Joshua

All you ****s who are going to keep on whinging I suggest you log off, make a placard and go protest outside aiba hq

I genuinely do not see what pleasure a boxing fan can take from watching a boxer get robbed in a hometown decision. Even if it benefits a fighter from your country.

Savon needed to crush the ****s skull in with a claw hammer tonight just to get a draw. This has really put a dampner on the whole tournament, to rob the possible star of the whole games is nothing short of a disgrace.

    Ok just watched the fight.

1st round was close, could have gone either way
    2nd round Savon won BIG.
3rd round wtf was Savon doing? He knew he was two points down but was fannying around until the last 30/40 seconds or so when he landed some big shots.

Worth considering that the US SHW who fought earlier today also took up boxing 5 years ago (same as Joshua). Joshua pisses all over him in terms of talent and ability.

Savon has probably been in the boxing gym since he was a kid, he's been groomed for this from day 1 especially since his uncle was an amateur ATG. Boxing is probably all he knows. Just watch the documentaries on Cuban boxing to see how these guys live. That's what Joshua was up against. Joshua might be better served staying am till 2016, improving with the GB setup with coaches like McCraken and Woodhall.

Selfishly I hope Savon defects and turns pro, the lad has serious talent.
