In the 24/7 preview, Margarito said this fight would prove his success had not been down to what he had in the wraps but down to what he had in his gloves, in his head and in his heart, and he proved that last night.

    What a performance by Margarito!

...and what a performance by one of the very best fighters that ever lived - Manny Pacquiao...

...I have yet to see EVIDENCE of there having been more than a few fighters better than him...

(Of course, I'm not including Achilles and Ajax - everyone knows that these are the top 2 ATGs, as everyone who had seen them fight can corroborate...)

This was the BEST Margarito I've seen. In his biggest win against Cotto in the early rounds he looked sluggish, couldn't hit the mark, won only thanks to punch resistance and brute force (plaster or not).

Against Pac his power was evident, noone in recent memory hurt Pac as bad but at the same time he was sharp from the beginning, often hitting the faster Pacquiao in exchanges and unleashing fury on the ropes. Respect for Margarito.

I give him mad probz for not going clottey on us, he could have easily chosen that route.

  4. he deserves respect now. his power was evident. i havent seen pac hurt since his second fight with marquez. margarito is a bad ass. i dont think any fighter around that weight could have taken so much punishment without at least being knocked down. he has the heart of a wolf.

for me it really proved the story of javier capitello (whatever his name). He said that he didn't plan to load margo's gloves. He was worried because margo was not in top shape and he knew that they had no chance against mosley. Then he saw something inside his bag and he uses it to load margo's gloves.

Margarito's win against cotto, clottey, cintron etc are legit wins.

Margarito can easily challenge in this division for me. Pacquiao is just on a different level and would do what he did to Margo to everyone except Floyd. Not saying he doesn't beat Floyd before I get abuse just saying Floyd doesn't get bust up like everyone else.

The way Margo just kept coming forward was amazing to see.

Pacquiao showed his class, and dominated the fight. Margarito had a couple of nice moments but in all he took a beating. Probably if I was the trainer I would have threw in the towel. But yea...he got his millions and some redemption I guess for finishing the fight.

What exactly did margarito prove? That he can take a good beating? We've seen this before?

I just wish pac knocked that cheat right out in the middle of the ring.

I think that if the fight had been fought at the 154 lbs limit, Margarito would have beaten Pacquiao.

Yap, this is how I see it too now.

Margarito wasn't just physically unprepared when he fought Moseley, but he was also mentally unprepared. The whole wraps incident before the fight affected him a lot and robbed him of his confidence and self-belief too.

I don't think Mosley would do half as well in a rematch.

Physical fighters like Margarito and Andrade are underrated on ESB a hell of a lot. Smooth skillz are overrated.

Inevitable part of being an observer, I guess.

...unless you fight yourself, you are always more likely to overrate flashiness and underrate toughness.

He deserves absolutely NO respect. The guy attempted to get into the ring against Mosley with a loaded glove and may have done so against Cotto. He`s a dog.

Great warrior in MArgarito, I respect him alot for this fight! HE kept the center of the ring and he was walking Manny down although he was hurt and outboxed, Great fighter, **** the haters! if you ever walked in a ring you would respect this preformance!
