I'd like to say Crawford is a very fine fighter and boxed very well tonight and is a deserved champion. By no means was Ricky out is place in there tonight and were hopeful Eddie can get him a world title fight in the summer. so good luck and all the best to Crawford and we look forward to Ricky's next challenge :good
Fair play Billy. What do you think the main problem was for Burns tonight? He seemed to back up in straight lines with a grimace on his face when he got caught. Crawford was hurting him in there.
Crawford is a very slick mover and is excellent at countering from both a stationary position and whilst moving,he will give most a very hard time.
Good call Billy and respect as both you and Ricky have given credit where it's due. After first four rounds I thought Crawfords footwork and counter punching we're starting to tell. I had Ricky two rounds up at that point but the way it was going I felt he had to use quicker feet to get in close and turn it scrappy. Easier said than done but where do you think Ricky could have changed things to get the W?
Well said Billy. I wasnt sold on crawford and thought id get the answers tonight one way or other and sadly i did
Gutted for Ricky and for yourself Billy, Ricky always a gent has time for everybody and was very gracious in defeat tonight. I'm still not sold on Crawford although he's slick and tricky I felt like there was times in the fight Ricky could have pressed him a little bit but it just didn't happen tonight for him but I'm sure he'll come again he wasn't blasted out or demolished like some said he would be he lost by 4 points on 2 cards and 6 on the other which IMO was too wide I agreed with the 4 points though.
I thought Crawford controlled the distance well and was able to make Ricky miss and then counter. Crawford fighting south paw and switching when he went on an offensive was very effective, he looked stronger pushing Ricky onto the ropes. It looked to me that Ricky ran out of ideas and was wary of letting his hands go because he was being countered so well. I think most people watching the fight felt that wasn't the best version of Burns.
Crawford won fair and square. No excuses. If I was Ricky's promoter I wouldn't chase a rematch. Some good domestic challenges and chase another belt. Perhaps rematch Martinez now he's stepped up.
Good respect there Billy. Ricky boxed a very talented fighter who could go far in the pound for pound rankings. Well done Ricky also, top man.
No excuses whatsoever, we just got beat by the better man on the night. Hopefully Eddie can get the WBA or WBC champ to Glasgow in the summer. IMO Crawford will be given the chance to fight a few vols before a mandatory Do remember that was Ricky's 3rd mandatory in 4 fights I've never heard of a fighter who's had to do that with any organisation
