Exactly, he was probably backing MAB all the way. None of this "shop worn", "to small" stuff last night, until his boy loses, and suddenly all the ways to discredit Khan get rolled out in a very predictable way. *YAWN*.
have you seen barreras last few fights? sick of all of this "why the hate for ami khan" stuff, bet you think im "racist" or something :yep l dont know why its acceptable for a natural light-welter to fight over-the-hill bantams and say it proves hes world class
Yes the excuses were being laid out before the fight. Sure Barrera is past it but I dont think he is shot. Being a realistic about Khans accomplishment, he's not ready yet for the likes of Marquez and Diaz. But he has come a long way. The kid deserves credit for making a comeback like this from being brutally KTFO barely a few months ago. To say it proves nothing is BS
I never said I was a fan of Amir Khan. I never said he was world class. And I never said or suggested you were a racist for disliking him - which you obviously do, because you seem to have joined ESB solely for purpose of discrediting Amir, in a very predictable way. Good luck you. Not everything is black&white, yeah MAB wasn't anything like what he used to be, but he was still MAB and Khan does deserve some credit for taking the fight, and getting the 'w'.
the timing of the stoppage & ensuing nut busting by the khan huggers in the media is a ****in complete joke
Exactly. Most people agreed before the fight that it was a risk for Khan. A lot of people thought he'd get smoked again.
just like tyson would deserve credit for fighting calzaghe  it isnt brave to fight a shopworn midget whos tailor made for you... Khan cant handle pressure, s therefore the opponent must be naturally smaller than him.. Khan cant take a punch, so the guy cannot have power, khan cant win exchanges with natural lightweights with any sort of power, even thought hes light-welter... end of story yes because after browsing im disgusted at the amount of people in here, supposed boxing fans, giving khan rediculous kudos for this ****. Boxing needs to change.
Khan is coming back from a big ko loss atsch and difference between barrera coming up one division yes mab has been fighting at 130 for 5 years now, and weighed 140 in his last fight. To a super middle stepping up to fight tyson are slightly different. Barrera and khan on the night would of been a maximum of 10 pounds difference in weight if that as barrera struggled to make 135 where as tyson would outweigh calzaghe by 50 + pounds :rofl Lets not forget tyson is a muderous puncher as well talk about over exaggeration :rofl
barreras best division was 3 down... 50 plus? that is an exaggeration seeing as calzaghe can easily make cruiser if he wished oh and khan is natural light welter, so this is a 4 weight class difference... and who has barrera beaten at lightweight? please stop talking ****
my text summary to a friend who missed it: "joke of a fight. ruined by a cut from a clash of heads in round 1. kahn was inevtiably bigger, faster and stronger and hitting at will. that said barrera didnt look hurt from punches but was in trouble as he couldnt see **** from all the blood in his eye. doctor stopped it in 5th so it went to the cards and khan was well ahead on points having been able to dominate a blinded barrera so gets the victory. had it been stopped in earlier rounds would have been ruled no contest. the whole thing stinks and does a huge disservice to a great boxer. khan will now get overhyped until he gets ktfo when he fights someone semi decent or his own size (heaven forbid). without the cut i think barrera could still have weathered it and caught him later on as even the few light punches he had landed seemed to have some effect. khan may have held out and won a UD. i'm gutted as people will misinterpret this result and denigrate barrera whilst lauding khan when the reality is that the cut makes the result meaningless." now i'm no khan hater but when people lose perspective the way they have about this fight i get ****ing pissed. fact is that we learned nothing. khan was always a classy boxer but nothing last night challenged any doubts about his chin. as things stand allwe know is that he may get better at not getting hit so much but against top opposition he will get hit and he will lose. he's the boxing equivalent of a flat track bully. looks great when he's on top but as soon as he gets caught he has to go for the KO or he'll get KTFO himself. people are talking tlike he destroyed barrera but the cut makes this a bull**** argument. barrera didnt look like he was getting hurt by punches. he looked like he couldnt see what a quicker and stronger fighter was doing. how the hell was he supposed to cope with that? without the cut - taking into consideration khan chin and barreras class - it is ridiculous to say the result would have definitely been the same. another sad night for boxing.
