I thought he looked polished tonight. His jab was a thing of beauty, Foreman had absolutely no idea what the hell to do about it. I think I had it 6-1 to Cotto going into the 8th round, with Foreman in survival mode landing the odd right hand to keep Cotto off of him. I don't think many people here predicted that Cotto, the smaller man, would be out boxing Foreman so decisively. The right hand wobbled Foreman bad in one of those rounds, and it was a kidney shot that finished it.

Props to Foreman, he's a warrior, but he was well on his way to losing decisively even before the accident.

I dont think cotto did anything special! I feel that yuri is just not very good. Cotto will met his fate if he fights mars again or Pac! Maybe miguel could fight Angulo...

I think Cotto won a fight...a world championship in a new division...I've got no time for being overly critical of a man who's been through what Cotto's been through. There were plenty of people here who gave Foreman a good chance of winning, this wasn't another Jennings type fight, Cotto just applied himself and boxed beautifully.

It wasn't anything special but it is worthy or praise.

Then why did you bet on him (more than once)?

Yuri is a good fighter, Cotto was terrific tonight. Glad I was wrong. :D

Yeah, Cotto fought well. I hope it springboards him to another really big fight and payday. Paul Williams anyone?

agreed, i think cotto and steward are going to be a match made in heaven. steward loves the jab and cotto, even before steward had one of the best in the business.
tonight we i saw him use his jab to set up other punches, something that he really didn't do in the past. I also like that he was focusing a lot more on keeping his left hand up, cotto is simply to easy to hit when he lowers that thing. cant wait to see whats next.

I thought yuri would win, I guess I over-rated him! Yuri looked horrific tonight, even before the injury cotto was beating him at his own game! I still dont feel that cotto will be a force at 154. Could he beat P-will? NO, martinez? hell no.. margarito? Nope, Angulo? Maybe

Cotto's jab was the key. It was landing hard and keeping Foreman off balance.

I think he was a bit conservative, hence his lack of impressive display, but his boxing ability has sharpened without at doubt. His jab is great, his few right hands were well placed, his footwork and balance matched Foreman's early on, and his upper body movement was as slickly evasive as it used to be. Impressed, but I'm eager to see a more comfortable Miguel rip to the body more while staying consistent and boxing smart in his next fights.

Angulo would be a good next step, he could outbox and possibly match power with the come-forward fighter.

Good fight, very excited for the win. Expected him to lose but he proved me wrong big time.

I thought the deck was stacked against him in a way. Runner who is significantly taller VS a pressure fighter that had seemed to pf lost his pressure mojo, new weight class, bigger gloves for the puncher of the fight, coming off a brutal beating. I know Foreman is seen as a feather-fister, but if you can't give Miguel props for performing the way he did, against a good young undefeated champion in a new weight class, I don't know what's wrong with you. Not to mention since his last fight he's taken a massive personal hit having a father he's very close to die and changing trainers. I really didn't think Steward could do that well with him in that amount of time. But, with credit to Cotto, credit to Manny too. Cotto's defense looked better than it has in a long time to me. If he wants to stay at 154 with some of the punchers there, he'll certainly need it.
