Just saw the Thompson vs Price replay...brilliant stuff from Thompson...what a wiley old fox.

He UTTERLY destroyed Price mentally...Price gave up because of Thomspons mind games...brilliant...

41 years old and he just took Prices punches and was not at all gassed, was completely calm and absolutely emotionless apart from a smile here and there..

Price was phycologically crushed from the 3rd round onwards...Brilliant stuff and shows what a mental game boxing is...this wasnt skill or conditioning...this was a complete head****.

    Brilliant

Thompson just another hyped up Brit fighter whom the fans bought into.Perhaps this shellacking will bring them back down to earth and realize they have very few world class fighters in the UK.

He just took Price's punches? Was he not knocked down in the 2nd round? Didn't Price hurt him early in the 3rd? Dont try to pass it off as something its not. Thompson did a great job coming back from a knockdown to pressure Price, get on top and force the stoppage but he was hurt bad early on. I take nothing away from Thompson and his victory but Price should never have come immediately back for a rematch, he wasn't ready for it mentally or physically and Thompson took advantage of that to come behind for the win.

Pleased that Thompson proved the first fight wasn't a fluke. If Price works at it he can still have a decent career but it was a mistake to rematch TT and his team are to blame for that...

Price is not that good BUT he is a well conditioned pro...look at him in the fight and he is fantastic shape...he had the fitness and stamina FOR SURE...it wasn't about that...mentally he gave in and then everything collapsed around him.

It is extremely rare to see someone that exhausted so early..its like something you see in the amateurs with the late starters...it doesnt happen from lack of fitness...that was PURELY a mental game...

You simply can't be at that level and not be physically fit enough to fight a solid 7 or 8 rounds...no, this was a wiley old fox at his best....this is what makes boxing so great (within context of course, i mean they are not exactly all time greats)...this was a cunning old fox taming the young lion...he schooled him in how to be a man.

he should remember two things next time:

    1) big guys like Price gas much more quickly, particularly if they throw too many punches, Price should rewatch Wlad-Brewster I

    2) he should of used his reach and jab to his advantage. He didn't and allowed TT to whack him to the body far too much, which also contributed to his gassing so early in the fight

Let Tyson Fury or David Haye Smash that Soft as **** yank to bits, He called out Tyson Fury but not David Haye because he knows David Haye will smash his head in, But i hope he does fight Tyson Fury beacause Thompson will get blasted out in the first couple of rounds.

Wilder refused to fight Thompson. Thompson is, by far, the best American heavyweight. He has been underrated because Vlad knocked him out two times, but Wilder won't go near him.................

My interpretation of the term "just took all his punches" is that the fighter in question was able to endure all his opponents punches without noticably being hurt - like Marvin Hagler could.

That was not the case with Thompson. He was clearly hurt by Price, he admits Price is a big puncher with a lot of power and he was apprehensive heading into the fight, but in the face of that apprehension he was even more determined than he would have been otherwise.

Thompson's mental strenght pulled him through a rough patch when other fighters of lesser strenght would have folded, whereas Price's mental weakness saw him fold instead of holding out.

Rumour has it Tony Thompson suffered some serious damage last weekend. Not from Price, it was when Tony got home and Mrs Thompson tackled him about the saucy comments he made about her in the post fight interview. ;)

Did sound as though Tony had a "tiger in the tank" though. :rofl

I don't understand why people keep saying he should of used his jab, if he used his jab from the off I think he would of been knackered by the second round.. It's pretty obvious his just not that good.
