I would not take what the judges say as gospel, they are the most incompetent people in the entire sport... Morales deserved no less than a draw vs Maidana, no way Maidana beat Morales, Erik outboxed him the majority of the fight, he deserved that title shot... most people were worried for his safety & predicted a brutal KO by Maidana... but you cannot write off greatness & Morales is greatness, the only guy that was hurt in that fight was Maidana.... as Erik said afterwards `Im better than him.`

Ps. Morales was not shot vs Pacquiao, he was past prime tho (like he is now), badly weight rained & in need of a very long rest to give his body & mind a break.

Glad to help... yet again ;)

He was a couple of weights too big for Morales at their best but while were on it, Morales would be the best fighter Mayweather would have ever fought & nobody ever decisively beat a prime Morales... anyway, when is he gonna fight Pac ????... thats the question the world wants to know.

I have been, maybe you should also be happy for a true legend of the ring, too many times these great fighters try to comeback in search of glory & end up with a sad ending, this is a rare thing, you should also enjoy it.

I wasn't even happy when they handed pac the belt against JMM II and when he beat margarito.

    I call a spade a spade.

Erik took a vacant normal WBC strap. Arce took the interim WBC title at flyweight whilst someone else had a hold of the normal WBC strap. He never got around to fighting for the normal strap.

I can see how this is bogus, but I can't see how it is more bogus than Manny's who took on a convicted cheat at 150 to pick up a vacant belt also while the real champ of the division was Martinez (or Williams?). That is as coddled together as it gets (aside from maybe winning a vacant title at a catch-weight on a robbery), whereas Morales was quite coddled together (even though he was scheduled to fight the "unbeaten" Matthysee).

As far as him not taking on Khan (the real champ by all means, that being said I don't see him as the man until he beats the number 2 in the division even if the ex-number 1 is ducking him) don't we count Roy Jones's achievement at heavyweight while he took on the paper champion Ruiz?

The simple fact is this is what it is. A fourth title in a fourth weight category for Morales. We can ***** and moan all we want but thats what it is. For me he underlined his legacy when he beat Maidana on my scorecard in what has been a far from abortive comeback considering his legs are shot.
