You must be saying Maidana is not top 10 at 140 then & we know he is, no doubt at all so behave yourself.

hes a great fighter and legend...but watered down belts , its not the same when a guy like duran did it..... when duran fought his 3rd, 4th title he knew who he was fighting...not a "to be announced" guy, andd he beat the champion, not vacant belts the wbc striped other fighters of so to make available for this win

Im pretty sure Iran Barkely was not the man at MW when Duran beat him, that takes nothing away from Duran, he is a legend & a legit 4 weight champion as is Morales.

I do agree there is too many belts these days tho but to Morales credit he has always gone after the WBC title, he didn`t just look for the easiest guy, he would fight whoever had the WBC belt whether it be Khan, Bradley, Maidana, Cano, Mattyse, anyone.... & to think he should be a 5 weight WBC title holder, he was on the end of a bad hometown decision vs Diaz for the LW title, he deserves this one no doubt.

Barkley and Moore weren't 'the man' either.

It's a paper title until he beats one single top 10 lww, at least. After he defends it by beating one single top 10 lww, I'll view this as somewhere approaching legitimate. As of now, he beat an unknown, unproven fighter for a vacant title. Not a landmark achievement, although it was a very good performance on the night. Looking forward to seeing Morales decisively defeat someone at least on Maidana's level, if indeed he is capable of it at this time.

I don't think Morales deserved a title after losing to Maidana and then fighting Cano for the title. The WBC sure wanted him to have a world title belt. Besides that, I thought Chavez was a 4 time titlest? He wasn't?
