Just how basic Pavlik is... He isnt gifted with a lot of athletic ability... he doesnt have the greatest footwork...

    his attack is basic....
-time his opponent for his left jab
-work the right hand off of the jab

Although he seemed a lil more patient and not as intense as he was in the first fight. Although he seems to get more fired up by being hit.

He's predictable but effective. A more consistent body attack would do him a lot of good.

This fight showed that he is certainly accustomed to being a head hunter and doesn't fair well when the guys don't try to straight brawl with him. His body punching needs a lot of work as well as ability to cut off the ring.

You Pavlik fans still think he can take on Kessler????
Kessler is just a stronger Taylor.

Pavlik showed some good things tonight: stamina, solid chin, a solid jab, toughness, determination, and good power. But he showed some vulnerabilities that I thought would be the case in watching him before. He's troubled by speed and fighters who give good lateral movement. I don't see anybody right now at 160 that would outbox him, although Abraham could out-punch him and win by stoppage. But at 168, Calzaghe, Kessler, Mundine, and Bute are all fighters that would give him lots of trouble and likely beat him.

And most said kess would KO JC and yet that was shown to be rubbish, pav has a great chance against both men,id pick him to win to be honest

I think Pavlik had an off night and still did just enough to grab a decision.

Nobody ****ing mentioned Kessler, who lost handily in his only real championship fight, in another division, why is he even brought up?

As for the thread, you don't get ****ing style points in boxing, Pavliks style wins, END.

Hmm yea i dont think so. Kessler was the underdog in that fight. So "most" did not favor him.
I like Kessler but felt Calzaghe was just in a diff level.
