On the scene website, Pascal promoter says that the wbc will allow Pascal to fight Dawson rematch first cause of the rematch clause. Now the question is if Dawson tko or ko Pascal in the rematch, will Hopkins FINALLY! fight Dawson?
Will Pascal be ready to go by April? How many other top fighters are more inactive than Dawson? Jesus.
Hell no. Hopkins might deserve it more but Dawson still deserves a rematch. Dawson had Pascal hurt so bad that Pascal was very very close of being tko or ko but the clash of heads that cause a very cut on Dawson stop the fight and went to the scorecard. Pascal got a very lucky break. This time Dawson won't wait long to land his punches cause now he knows he must ko Pascal in the rematch in canada if he wants to win.
Dawson had the Pascal fight to win the first time but he blew it. Not enough aggression on Dawson's part and that can also be contributed to Pascal's movement. Hopkins tried to win but wasn't awarded the decision I felt he should've got. Dawson blew it when he fought Pascal. Blew it. Hopkins definitely deserves the Pascal rematch more but with his age that performance on Saturday was probably his last hurrah. I want Dawson/Pascal 2 next and if Dawson fights aggressively I think he wins impressively.
Pascal executed the game plan perfectly and beat dawson fair and square, only reason he gets a rematch is because of the contract. Hopkins beat pascal straight up but didnt get the decision also with age in mind its more fair if hopkins gets him first. dawson is prime, he can fight someone else now and fight pascal in the summer. Hopkins will never face him regardless of who beats pascal first.
More importantly, Dawson has a rematch clause and Hopkins doesn't. It has nothing to do with who deserves what.
So you're going to ignored that Dawson had Pascal so badly in which Pascal was an inch away of being stopped before the clash of heads???? Yes Pascal was ahead going in the 11th but he got a lucky break by the clash of heads cause he was an inch away of being stopped by Dawson. Was it Dawson own fault for coming on too late? Yup but still you still can't ignored that Pascal barely survived in that fight rather you like it or not. In the rematch i believe Dawson won't make the same mistake but letting Pascal get off first in the early rounds.
Pascal kicks his ass again. Dawson is going in there to fight for 30 seconds of all rounds and take random rounds off. Pascal wins on activity again and will hurt/rock Dawson numerous times again too.
