Personally I think Zuffa want him as a HW champ when they actually announce there own belts
Not just yet but that's the long term plan

Don’t you think it already is too many belts and champions, isn’t better to have one champion that have to fight the next in line? Don’t you think we already have issues getting fights between fighters from different promotions?

Boxing is a mess in many cases and it’s too many cherry picking fights instead of fighting next in line. I’m not saying Zuffa/Dana is perfect in any way, I just don’t think that it is that bad as some of you guys think. For the lower/mid level boxer this is good, they will be guaranteed x amount of fights a year and will have guaranteed base pay. I wish you guys was as passionated to have those guys getting taken care of as you are for the stars to get paid.

Jai is a star and thought it’s a good move for him and I’m sure he had many options offered.

No you guys are saying that Dana is the devil and Zuffa boxing is bad for boxing. I’m saying it’s not. You guys have no other argument than that boxing makes more than the UFC guys, I’m saying it’s only a very few that makes that type of money.

Since you are a fan (or think that you are), why are you not as passionated for everyone to get paid instead of just a few??

Dana/Zuffa is good for everyone else than maybe the few on the very top, although it seems like Jai thinks it is good for him as well.

No I don’t have an issue with too many champions, it’s not confusing to me. 4world titles per weight class. It’s been like this for years and it’s not caused issues. It causes issues to those who don’t understand and get confused by the propaganda telling us it’s a mess and confusing.

regarding cross promotional fights, when has Dana/UFC done that with other mma promotions?

Theres so many other problems with Dana White. Theres the incentive based pay structure where hes putting pressure on fighters to fight a certain way. He cuts talented fighters who aren't exciting enough. He publicly bullies and extorts his fighters. He publicly bullies and extorts journalists. He cultivates a toxic culture. He can't rig fights but he can stack the deck for and against fighters by choosing who they fight.

The way monopolies work is they spend more up front. Hes going to pay the first wave of fighters a lot of money to join up. Jai and any star who gives them credibility at the start is going to get paid well. They wouldn't sign otherwise. Then when Dana and friends have got their "Unified Boxing Organization" and the alphabet bodies credibility is gone then the switch happens. To get the alphabet bodies out of the way hes actually got to make his project sound appealing at the start.

Having 1 belt creates problems too. Look at boxing when it had 1 belt under the mob in the late 40s early 50s. If theres a close title fight and theres a rematch everything grinds to a halt. And at that time most good fighters came from 1 country. In an international sport you need more belts to filter talent. The UFC has had over 20 interim champs because doing 1 belt isn't really practical even within their closed setup.

The champions are not the only ones underpaid in the UFC and you're misrepresenting it by making it seem like the UFC are paying the lowest level of MMA fighters and they are spreading money around the whole sport better then boxing does. The UFC is not the sport of MMA its a company that has a roster with a few hundred fighters and to get those spots those fighters had to have been successful pros beforehand.

Entry level fighters make more money in the UFC then boxing because the UFCs entry level fighters aren't actually entry level fighters they already had distinguished careers at lower levels. You're comparing a champion from flyover country FC to a boxer with a few fights. The UFC lower level are like state or national champions in boxing. And if the UFC doesn't pay them something they won't come and continue being big fish in a small pond. The upper tier guys the UFC has control over them they have no leverage.

    Let's get it right
Despite being a great talent, Jai is no star
Most promoters are at a loss with how to make money with him
He is a champ nobody wants to face for pretty much 2 reasons
He brings little money to any deal and anyone fighting him him risks being beaten badly for very little

It's a calculated risk to take him on but one I hope financially helps him to earn what his talent deserves to

Being the first major name signed, he probably nabbed a great deal as initally the money will be spent to build

    Other than that screw Dana

Jai has spent at least 2 years on the sidelines calling out everyone now, and Ramirez and CBS have avoided him like the plague. It's a short career, and he needs to get the money that he fully deserves. Dana's treatment of Jai will be interesting to watch unfold, as will how much he pays him, and it could be a solid measuring stick for how White is ultimately rated as a boxing promoter, it's a great signing for him.

He's worked with big-name promoters who haven't gotten him the fights he wants; it's time to try someone else who might be able to get them over the finish line.

Back when the UFC was trying to wipe out the competition in MMA they sometimes did overpay to get stars. It's possible Jai will get a pretty decent deal financially. It's the guys down the line, when Zuffa Boxing as a brand is more established that will likely get the short end of the stick.

You didn't bother to read subsequent posts. Nor is Jai a bottom tier guy, so your argument is non sequitur.

I just said Jai is a star and I’m sure he read the contract without a gun to his head before he signed and since he’s happy, who the **** are you to say he’s not or that Dana/Zuffa “lowballed” him??! and why the fvck is Dana bad for boxing with a signing of a fighter like Jai??!

"One of the biggest concerns I had when we first started negotiations was the fact they (Zuffa Boxing) don't recognise the sanctioning bodies. However, they will let Jai fight for the world titles and unify the division.

"Jai is on a great deal. There's a fight coming up (with Zuffa) and there's conversations about fighting on a major card at the end of the year against a very good light-heavyweight who's looking at coming up."
