His time is short i believe all that's left for him is A KO win against gamboa in a fight for the WBC super duper bridginterim world championship and off to a career at IG modeling being known as the former greatest boxing talent to ever retire undefeated

Mauricio suliaiman "the WBC super duper bridginterim world championship is not a belt, its a designation, and after we reviewed this fighters resume, and trust me we reviewed it thoroughly we came to the conclusion that after goldenboy promotions "requested" this designation we designated ryan "fierce king ry" garcia the WBC super duper bridginterim wolrd champion.

And off into the sunset road ryam garcia on a mule in mexico

    Gerry Cooney?

Saw his name pop up in another thread. I think he is one of those figures whose celebrity surpassed his not having any wins on the biggest stage. Best wins being his run in 80-81:

a 4th round cuts stoppage of Jimmy Young.
followed by a 1st round KO of 39 year old Ron Lyle. That would be Lyle's last fight.
followed by a 1st round KO of 38 year old Ken Norton. That would be Norton's last fight.

Great fighters from the 70s era. I can't find a record of the rankings from 80-81, but I gather Young, Lyle and Norton were no longer in The Ring's top 10 by the time Cooney would get to them.

Calzaghe has big wins against Kessler at his peak and Hopkins who had a lot left...also, in hindsight, beating Lacy doesn't seem all that impressive but that was huge at the time

I personally wouldn't include him here but you could make an argument that Pavlik fits the bill but I think his wins against Taylor exclude him

I'd also include Ricky Hatton, again, it depends on your rating of the Tszyu win

Jeff Lacy: His biggest win was arguably Syd Vanderpool or Robin Reid
