He hit the back of his head in the Johnson fight. I've heard the back of your head is a particularly dangerous place to get a concussion.

Really sad stuff, Roy's brain will become jelly, he'll be incoherent within 5 to 10 years

He should've just stuck with commentating and maybe coaching, and the way things are going, he won't be able to do either in the future

Yeah, it looked like Lebedev and Enzo landed a temple shot too.. Danny Green landed on the temple as well.. Roy has a soft spot right there for sure.

Not to mention, in the Johnson fight the back of his head bounced off the canvass very hard.. I am sure that did as much damage as the punch.

There's also all the blows in training to consider as well. Possible kos in the amateur days & sparring.

Part of why Meldrick Taylor turned out the way he did. He got in a lot of wars in sparring.

Roy is destroying his legacy fight by fight and he doesn't realize it. There are a lot of fighters with a lot of losses, but they don't lose like Jones does. For Jones, it's just one faceplant after another and he's 46 years old.

I think it's time for the commission to do their job and revoke his license. He's like an addict who can no longer control himself.

On second though, Maybe Jones should try to drag Michalczewski out of retirement and have a final battle for all the marbles.

Without wishing to make a joke out of a tragic situation I don't think he has many marbles left to play with.

Irony is that Jones used to say he didn't want to end up like McClellan.

Norris and Toney also. I remember reading guys like Holyfield & Martinez didn't spar that much. Fairly smart on their part.

Knowing what we know about the brain and concussions, and that damage often doesn't show until years after retirement, Roy should not even be sparring. Every punch landed on him is causing damage, even when he easily wins. The brain doesn't care if its taking shots in sparring or from a 5-10 opponent. Its all just damage.
