With the exception of the Canelo fight the matchups actually had me excited for this !

Who would have thought we would get our souls snatched with a bunch of uninspired, boring, safety first, low output sparring bouts

Teo was the only decent fight. Haney and Garcia didn't fight to win, they found to not lose. Very terrible showing. I did not bother with Canelo.

Horrible weekend. These boxers are such p*&**&& that they avoid big punchers to fight slappers and that makes for boring fights. At least both Ryan and Rolly can punch so that fight was ok on paper.

to be fair, last night they were fighting at like 4am. I don’t even want to go out and walk the dog at that time.

not sure what the Times Square guys’ excuse is

We had an epic war for the ages last week (CEJ vs Benn) where two Brit warriors put on a magnificent spectacle for the fans laying it all on the line and fighting their hearts out from first bell to last. But then just six days later, on a PPV card for what was supposed to be a historical event where the Saudis who have treated us to some of the greatest and most memorable cards of all time since they have become a super power in the sport, right up there with us Brits, at enormous expense to themselves, and what must have been a logistical nightmare, where they literally shutdown Time Square to stage said historical event, were repaid for the effort and generosity by the gutless chickens they had paid a fortune to and foolishly entrusted with the responsibility of upholding their part of the deal, that being the oh so simple task of actually providing some entertainment for the fans in attendance and the millions of fans watching at home who had forked out to pay for the PPV, with what is hands down the worst spectacle and fight card I've ever suffered the gross misfortune to witness but also what has to rank as one of the worst sporting events in sporting history.

I literally fell asleep during Haney vs JCR and Ryan vs Rolly no word of a lie and it's extremely rare for me to ever do that.

Haney, Ryan and Teofimo are supposed to the the future of US boxing, so much so they had been crowned as three of the ''Four Kings'' ie
this generation's Hagler, SRL, Hearns and Duran

This is why I keep telling you guy that British domestic dust ups are the gold standard and are the envy of the boxing world, because we Brits actually come to fight, entertain and put on a show for the fans, not run around the ring all night in mortal fear of getting clipped by the wind of a punch and grabbing ahold for dear life everytime the opponent manages to close the distance and get themselves into punching distance at

I also keep telling you that the modern American school of slickness is, unlike the British school, the Cossack school, the Japanese school, and damn near every other school, is a fear based school of slickness and it's hardly a coincidence as soon as the Saudis reached out to 'to 'fighters' who graduated at that school the cards went from being the greatest and most memorable of all time to the most drab, forgettable, sleep inducing and worst of all time

    American exceptionalism is over.

This is the age of the American hype job.

The Saudis basically got what they paid for. The Canelo fight was very predictable.

I think this will make Turki think twice about staging bouts in America or overpaying "super stars".

If his proposed tournament/points style model goes ahead, we get more exciting fights and the boring/declining fighters tumble down the order.

The Crawford fight will be just as boring, but just a bigger event on a larger scale.

Turki will end up paying Canelo - a rapidly declining and now totally flat footed fighter - stupid money with very little return. He will learn that Canelo isn't the financial draw he used to be and why other promoters (Matchroom, PBC etc) never renewed their contracts with him; there is very little ROI with Canelo.

Indeed and mark my words it will kill the sport if they don't bulldoze every single American school of slickness and replace them with actual skill based schools of slickness. They need to enlist the services of British trainers and ex-fighters when they rebuild and gulag all their homegrown ones
