It's not the same answer. He can't make 160 anymore, he can however make 165. Once again, there is not hypocrisy in that statement. There is no hypocrisy in saying that you can't make 160 but can make 165. Now if he said that he couldn't make 160 but then said he would be willing to go to 158 to fight Oscar, that would be a hypocritical statement.

he said he has no interest at 160 for pavlik but will fight DLH at 165, not that he cant make the weight

it sounds to me like hypocrisy

I think its the absurdity of expecting Oscar to do a suicidal weight climb while he himself won't cut five pounds to fight a prime fighter in Pavlik. Better yet, why not ask Pavlik to move do 165?

That's exactly what was said. He seems to me that he is clearly indicating that Tito can't make 160. There is no hypocrisy in saying that you can come down to 165 and not 160 as going down to 160 is harder than going down to 165.

No, I think like others that he indeed can make 160. I feel that he is not motivated enough. His dream was to fight Roy and he followed him to 170. Remember he was derailed when he lost to Hopkins. Prior to losing to Hopkins, he thought he was invincible ripping through the 154 division and then beating a middleweight champ. All the time, he just wanted to get to the P4P king at the time, which was RJJ. Now he has to get motivated somehow to fight at 160. MONEY will possilby motivate him to go back down.

Pavlik has no interest in fighting Tito at 165. Furthermore, Tito would have to cut 10 more lbs. from where he was in his last fight in order to fight at 160, while he would only have to cut 5 more lbs. from where he was at his last fight in order to get to 165.

    I'll repost this again

It seems like Papa Trinidad is clearly saying that Tito can't make 160 anymore. No offense, but I think Papa Trinidad knows more about Tito's ability to make 160 than you do. If money was the only thing preventing him from making 160, he would've fought DLH last year. DLH tried to fight Tito, but Tito said that the fight would have to be above 160.

I believe he falls under Holyfield's issue. He misses the roar of the fans and all the hype. Oh, money doesn't hurt either. He feels comfortable at 170???. This is absurd. Everyone is getting caught up with the number 165. Of course he can make 160 and possilbly 154. If Oscar took Tito seriously, he would challenge Tito to a mult-millioin dollar fight at 154. Your going to tell me that Tito won't jump and take the fight. Either come down to a weight class that would showcase his abilities or just retire.

Last I heard that fight was all but inked. Does this leave Taylor free for Kessler?

Not offended, but Papa is a salesman. He is actually a good salesman. I remember the challenge, but if Oscar moved up to 160 or above he would be beaten. Now, if Tito moved down to 154 in which I believe Tito can make. This would have been a more interesting and fair fight and weight class. Remember, we the people never really hear all of a story through the media. It was possibly a money issue that derailed the challenge. By the way, I am a Trinidad fan.

No need to point that out, I already came to that conclusion from your username. No way in hell can Tito make 154, that's not going to happen. They had a proposed fight for May of 2007, but that was shot down because of weight and money. Oscar refused to go above 154 and Tito refused to go below 160. Also, Tito was willing to do a somewhere around a 60-40 split while De La Hoya wanted to do a 70-30 split.

Well, we know Tito will be back to fight someone. He is like SRL. Fight, retire, fight, retire. If he wants to continue , then just fight one of the 168 champs. He can still come down to 165 to bring in a little speed. Wishful thinking though. I mean, who could he beat at his weight? Honestly, I believe Tito won't retire until he gets knocked out the way RJJ got knocked out and that will be a shame.....Got to go, my wife is yelling at me :yep, peace.

I think trinidad knows he stands little chance against taylor or pavlik, he is better of trying to seal a big money fight with DLH.
