Would love to but we shall see if he really does come back. He's been scheduled numerous times but no fights delivered. As for now, I will await Seth Mitchell. :D

People said the same **** about The Ultimate Warrior and his Intercontinental HW Title. They said Hulk Hogan could not be defeated. But I was there, Toronoto SkyDome, Wrestlemania 6. And I will be there when Klitschko hands over the title to The Ultimate Welliver in 2012!

Even if by some miracle for you a Klitschko decided to give Welliver a title shot, it would certainly not be in 2012, Wlad's fights this year are already set up, first Thompson and then Arreola.

Arreola is not penciled in yet. He is WBC #1 and nobody wants to see that fight again with Vitali. Any Wlad shot will be a voluntary and that is far from decided. Chauncy is right there in that conversation for that voluntary at WBO #7 and is right in the WBC mix as well at #6.

Once Seth Mitchell gets his grill bashed in by Chauncy on HBO, he will be right on the door step of a mandatory and at the head of the pack for the voluntary. The 2012 door is still there to be kicked down Running Bear Style!

That's why he's fighting Wlad next, not Vitali.

He has as much chance of getting a title shot as Carlos Takam.

Leapai is the one who'll be in the mix if he beats Johnson :deal

I'll believe Welliver is fighting Mitchell when I see it.

There's a lot of Pizza Hut and KFC to be eaten before either Klitschko ever gives Chauncy a shot
Only Jenny Craig can save the day. :D

I wish Alex luck this weekend...and think he will need it. I'll be picking Johnson by UD.

Just so you can all read it again. Leapai was railroaded. Put into a fight as a 2-1 underdog (with home field advantage!) that wasn't even an eliminator. Hellen Keller could have guided this man better.

If Welliver ever loses that would make perfect sense as the next fight.

If Alex rebounds and grabs a regional title in an organization Welliver is rated in and becomes Top 15 again, that would also make sense. And I firmly believe Alex could be moved to a Top 15 guy rather easily within the year, even from here.

But as of now, I wouldn't touch Alex with a 10 foot pole. The rewards that Welliver is looking for are not in that win. It would be almost as stupid as Alex vs KJ for no marbles besides an initial ranking. It would be for all of Chauncy's marbles and Alex has none. Though I have Chauncy by UD all day, every day of the year.

Now a Top 15 ranked WBC Mark De Mori....now that is a fight there. Australasia supremacy fight for big time marbles. An eliminator that Welliver should win handily as well. That is how you guide a dude there. To success and title shots after.

But I don't have any authority to ever put him in with anybody. I am just Welliver's #1 Fan. I've never been paid a penny for my thoughts and I am never slated to gain anything other than satisfaction from Welliver's career. I give my opinion to him here and there, but that is it.

My opinion of facing Alex is low...because there are so many better guys to fight. He's now fallen down below De Mori in every category that you look for an opponent in. Tuaman, Barrett vs Cameron winner....those guys are way ahead too. Alex is hind tit for awhile now.

    Hmmmmm Wellivers next "opponent"

    http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=1596&cat=boxer

At this stage a loss for Alex to KJ is nothing to be ashamed of. He was looking good for the first couple of rounds but he know knows there is plenty to work on. He can be very proud that he gave it a shot and went out on his feet - and for a couple of rounds there he looked great.

Chauncy beating up a 50 year old Bert Cooper is nothing to be proud of. I know the excuses - its a warm up for a potential Mitchell fight so he dont want anything to risky - Still I'm not buying it. There are plenty of opponents out there without fighting an old bloke who almost gave Gabe Brown his first win of the decade. if we could hold this fight in 1987 bert would at least have a chance.

yes. alex aint out of the picture. thats the reward for taking the big risks. a solid showing still gets respect.

welliver and demoron fighting over the hill, damaged fighters is contemptuous.

Who would be a good fight for Mark next then in your eyes. Looking at opponents that have some world and WBC relevance by the way.

Chauncy went after a much tougher 50 year old 1st. A 50 year old who would murk Alex easily too.

I interviewed Oliver McCall for this fight when it looked solid on March 27th. The interview never made it to the front page though. I didn't get enough info to say why it didn't go off, who was getting in, or if it would be revisited. So I didn't release a half arse article based on my own speculation. But I will share the interview with you folks now. McCall was amped up and ready to go.

The 757 Gets Grounded, Jumbo Jet Message To Lennox And Klitschko's Postponed

    By: Money Messer

I got a chance to interview Oliver McCall the other day about the upcoming match that he had accepted against heavyweight contender Chauncy Welliver. The fight was supposed to occur in Jefferson City, Missouri, on April 5th. Oliver was amped up about the opportunity to say the least. The following is from our conversation on March 27th, 2012.

Oliver's thoughts on the opportunity to face WBC #6 and WBO #7 ranked heavyweight Chauncy Welliver:

"I am excited and I am ready. I'm going to be putting up my WBF Intercontinental HW Title and Chauncy is going to be putting up his WBC Continental Americas HW Title. With a win I will be right back in the mix for a shot at a Klitschko."

McCall on the recent rumors of Lennox Lewis being willing to face a Klitschko for 100 million dollars and whether or not he would be interested in a rubber match with Lewis, if he won this fight and again found himself a world ranked contender:

"Cmon man, you know what the answer to that is. Everyone knows what the answer to that is. Of course, I want the rubber match with Lennox, especially after the way the second fight ended. If I beat Welliver, I want Lewis III and then the winner can get a Klitschko."

His views on Lennox Lewis stepping into a title fight straight away rather than proving himself first:

"I just beat a good, young fighter with 30 wins man (Damien Wills). If I beat Welliver I will have just beaten a top 10 heavyweight and I will be rated for both Klitschkos. If Lennox comes back he should have to face me for the right to face a Klitschko. I've never left and I've never stopped beating top fighters. I am still here and I am still one of the best in the world. I want my rubber match with Lennox Lewis!"

His views on Chauncy Welliver and their previous experiences sparring eachother:

"He's a good heavyweight with good skills. I am not taking Chancey lightly. I know that is not his name but I call him Chancey. He's taking a chance getting in the ring with me, a very big one. I'll be ready to go, I'm in great shape, and this is do or die for me. If I win I am right back where I want to be. If I lose this will be the end of my career."

Oliver's thoughts on the combined 757 heavyweight round streak between him and Welliver without going down:

"Wait, how many rounds do I have and how many rounds does he have?" The answer, McCall 397, Welliver 360.

"Wow, man that is awesome. Much respect to Welliver and what he has been able to do in his career. But I will tell you this much. If Welliver will stand and trade with me, instead of running, I will knock him down. I have no doubt in my mind, I can and will knock Welliver down! I will be the first to do that."

His thoughts on the fight and what it will bring to the heavyweight fans:

"This is the kind of fight heavyweight fans and the division needs. Two good fighters facing eachother with the winner going on to bigger and better fights. It's win or retire for me. I will be coming to win and I ultimately want another shot at the HW Championship Of The World. I don't see this being my ending. I see this being the start of my next great run. Chancey (Chauncy) Welliver is just the next stepping stone to bigger and better things for Oliver McCall."
