    Colin Jones was a very good fighter,used to like watching his fights.

    I think Driscoll was greater than Welsh.

    I was going to ask something similar just the other day, I was looking at a BBC top ten Welsh guys...

    I'll try and find it out...

    This was done within a few days of when Calzaghe retired mind (so it may be a bit bias). BBC lists are not always that great anyway...


    It took a long time, but Joe Calzaghe's stellar career eventually won him recognition on the world stage.
    He continued a great tradition of Welsh pugilists, following the likes of Howard Winstone, Jimmy Wilde and Jim Driscoll.
    So where does Calzaghe stand in this pantheon of fighters?

    Johnny Owen is a sad tale, but a sympathy top 10 pick for best Welsh fighter. If he were still alive, I suspect he would be the first to tell you he is not in the top 20 after the Pintor fight, let alone top 10.

    He deserves more respect than a cheap pop or afterthought....
