He would do well at times but hed take more punishment, and thats one of the reasons i see a possible tko,on the outside he would not be able to do what Leonard did in the 2nd fight with Duran.

I don't know about that. Pacquiao has functional movement, but it's not like he fights off the back foot or spends the whole night moving side-to-side. The way I see it, Duran would slip his shots, get inside and take Pacquiao - who isn't strong up close - to school. I don't actually think Pacquiao is getting his due generally on here, but he's both overmatched and tied up in knots stylistically in this one.

Their both versatile brawlers, but I'd say Manny eventually loses to Durans power and pressure via TKO in the 9th.

Again, I think Duran ultimately brings too much pressure and unrelenting punching that Pacman succumbs late in the bout.

    A pretty amazing match up.

Duran UD for me, I think Manny would have his moments but Duran just brings too much to the table.

Duran can outbox or outfight Pac.

It really pisses me off that i know people who tend to post more in general are going to crash this thread talking about how we overrate fighters from the past. This is Roberto Duran vs Manny Pacquiao head to head, Duran would win, time has nothing to do with it.

I'm known as a fervent Pacquiao supporter, but of course he has next to no chance in this one. The Duran of the Brawl is one of the finest fighting machines ever caught on film. Even with the slight speed advantage Pacquiao would have, he would still be outskilled, outgunned, and badly beaten up.

A more interesting question is over how Duran wins. Pacquiao is a durable and tough guy, and Duran was not a home-run-hitter at 147. But Pacquiao isn't a defensive wizard on the inside and he might be so overmatched that the towel could come in. Palomino, for example, was not far away from being finished and he was only in with Duran for 10.

He's durable Pacquiao, and very great in his own right, lets have that said. But he really is outclassed technically. Duran would hit him so much and at times look a wizard standing in front of Pac, at stages of the fight it would be like a handcuffing and beating. Pacquiao wouldn't get shut out because he can always surprise Duran early with fast right hooks. You've got to understand that Roberto's right hand from distance is ridiculously effective.
