Yeah because in the Cotto fight, Manny was constantly dartin' in and out? He was laying on the ropes for periods of up to 30-40 seconds at a time in spots. He can't expect to do that against Duran and go unpunished. Show me a fight where Manny is constantly moving throughout the whole fight.
Wrote that las post before i got to read your reply teeto. The reason it pisses me off, this is in no way an isolated incident. Go get every single topic Duran related on here and see every fighter involved discredited, go to every single Leonard thread and see it turn into a Duran thread and see every other fight but Duran be discredited. The only reason Thomas Hearns and Leonard aren't recognised as top 10 P4P fighters is because Duran the no.1 fan favourite of all time, and these two made him look silly. You'd think it would've had an opposite effect.
What, you mean when he was laid on the ropes, inviting Cotto to lace into him? And not being hurt by it at all. When Pac was laying on the ropes, it was silly, but Cotto was a beaten man already. Cotto is a great fighter, and gave him a great fight early on despite being knocked down twice. The rest of the fight didn't really require much technical movement, it required him to do 300 laps hopping round the ring after him(no disrespect to Cotto)
I know what you mean in that he really seems to be loved on here now. I've seen people here pick Kid Gavilan and Jose Napoles over him though. Maybe that's no consolation for you. I don't think he was the very best ever, but i've got to admit he's up there for me at his best. Thanks for the reply though i respect your posting now. Just not your **** opinions (only joking haha)
what happen wit Benitez Hearns & Leonard with Duran? no one saw that. Manny decision over Mr excuse duran and i am not even mentioning how easy it would be if Money Mayweather fought duran
You know what you're right. Pacquiao would stop Duran when i think about it. It's them right hooks, they'd land all day, together with the footwork it's a no brainer. And Mayweather would beat Leonard, his footwork's too good. Now go to sleep.
hey if duran won the fights with the 3 hearns ray and wilfred you could have dismised it and said go to sleep but he lost easy to them all and you say he would beat manny p people just want to see what they want to see without really thinking about it the fights with the three above says it all and duran would not have the speed against pac and lose a decision as he would to money mayweather also. the 0 speaks for it all undefeated!!!!!!!!!!! speed was durans kriptonite and manny and money have it baby!!!!
I was going to have a discussion with you then until i saw the 0 says it all. It's sleep time, you're tired.
I think he's a great fighter, he's very fluid and his speed is underrated. And at jr welter/welterweight he has proved it, he has fought everybody that matters and won. He probably has the most depth in his resume out of any active fighter today. He lost to Margo with a pair of bricks and he lost to Pacquiao(who i believe is something special. Maybe i'm selling Duran short and need to watch more of his earlier fights, but im not your average *******. See my posts on Morales, DLH, Barrera and Cotto and see how highly i regard them. Those fights were hard for me to watch. Thats 4 of my top ten favourite fighters and they've made me a believer in Pacquiao. No matter how fanatical some philipino's are, he definatley doesnt get his props around here. 106lbs is like my 13 year old sister and he's blitzed his way through to 147lbs
Yeah i can see you're not some idiot ******* for sure. I'm a Pac fan myself. If you do decide to watch more of Duran you'll really like it, it's mind blowing some of his footage. Pacquiao's a great fighter and it can't be questioned, technical or not. Like i always say, the way a fight turns out on paper a dam lot of the time is not how it turns out for real, some fighters are just of a higher caliiber. I think that Cotto is one of the best examples of educated pressure in the world, it's quality to watch. But i wouldn't pick him over any of history's bona fide greats personally. There's a stamina/mental problem there.
Well, I've said before and I'll put my two cents in again. I think of Cotto as a borderline great fighter. Meaning I can understand if you see it in him and I can understand if you don't. Coming out of a damn fair amateur background having been an Olympian, the guy beat 10 or more world champions and is something like 13-2 in world title fights in two weight classes. His two losses come from an ATG who seems to be in his prime and a guy who very possibly loaded his gloves. Flawed? Well, yes. He sure is. But how many champions aren't? Look at the guy's competition at welterweight. Mosley, Clottey, Judah, Pacquiao, Margarito and Quintana. He hasn't had many fights but they've been consistently high quality. If you don't consider him a great fighter, it's certainly no biggie but I don't consider great to be a laughable adjective for him. He may not even be done yet as far as big wins are concerned. I think he very well might be but you never know. He could change some minds yet.
who cares if we talk dude you know you cannot argue with speed and the 0 and are you saying leonard benitez & hearns are that much faster than Manny P. or Money May? those are guys who beat duran with ease and my boys Manny and money are just as fasts
