The Champs Shane Mosley WBC Miguel Cotto WBA Kermit Cintron IBF Paul Williams WBO The Contenders (not in order) Antonio Margarito Alfonso Gomez Zab Judah Andre Berto Luiz Collazo Carlos Quintana Jose Antonio Rivera Joshua Clottey Demetrius Hopkins Ricardo Mayorga (if he drops down after Vargas) Oscar De La Hoya (I guess?) Some proper contender fights could be made here I reckon, too many match ups to be made! I see it as the best division at the mo, wha u think? What current champ is most likely to clean up the division if any? Cotto looks so strong at welterweight but I'd like to see how he handles Cintrons power, could Williams outwork him, Williams didn't really hurt Margarito at all in their fight from wha i cud tell. Maybe Mosley will beat Cotto before them 2 get to fight him anyway. Blah debate debate.atsch
There's been talk that Margarito could be a possible opponent for Oscar if he drops down at welterweight, what with his wanting go out having taken part in a "war" before he retires, surely Margarito could oblige. wonder if Oscar is still strong at Welterweight tho...
For me the 130 lbs is hotter.. Pac Jmm Guzman Valero Soto Mab Then you the 126 and 135 division which would join in the mix.
word it's amazing how the heavywieghts seem rubbish since no big amercian fighter has come threw only ruiz and no one has love for ruiz.
Jose Antonio Rivera is actually Light Middle and Demetrius Hopkins actually Light Welter but if you're going to include them because they're close, you could also include Mayweather and Hatton
Yeah, the HW division wasn't called weak when Americans were dominating. It has nothing to do with guys the caliber of Sam Peter and Oleg Maskaev being ranked in the top three, a 38 year old former middleweight champ and Shannon Briggs being recent inhabitants of the top ten, and Hasim Rahman a little more than a year ago being ranked in the top 3.
