With all the talent in the welterweight division i thought i'd make a thread about it,because to me right now it's the best division in boxing and here are a list of some of the best in the division. Shane Mosley Floyd Mayweather jr-if he decides to stay Paul Williams Antonio Margarito Joshua Clottey Kermit Cintron Miguel Cotto Zab Judah Andre Berto Luis Collazo Carlos Quintana Joel Julio With all these recognized and talented fighter's this is by far the best division in boxing, but the question is,who do u like best, who is the best, who will become the best, who will unify the division and who do u have high hopes for. If mosley is gonna retire next year and floyd stay's retired, then we can minus those 2 and that leaves us with williams, clottey, margarito, cotto, judah, quintana, julio, berto, cintron, collazo and that's still a great list of young fighter's. With mosley and mayweather gone, now who do u think will become the best and unify. I think cintron or the winner of margarito/williams will become the best of the division and unify all the titles.
Well food for thought time..... This morning I hit the gym before going to work and played some bball with the 6AM regulars. While playing I had a boxing conversation with a pro fighter by the name of "Pedro Serrano" he fights at jrWelter (I didn't ask for his stats so dont ask) well to make the long story short he's a former stablemate of Zabs and he happened to speak to him a couple days after the fight. He said that Zab looked frustrated and disappointed in himself. Zab trained extremely hard for this fight and lose the way he did was completely draining and has made Zab ponder retirement. Pedro went on to tell me that Zab mentioned the fact that Cotto hits damn hard and that Cotto's jab hurt more than PBF's right hand. He went on to say that Cotto is willing to hit you everywhere and anywhere to get his way. Now here's the kicker.....Pedro said that Zab thinks Margo would be Cotto's toughest fight and not PBF  Zab thinks Cotto is gonna hurt PBF because Cotto makes you feel like you can open up on him because he does not throw a punch unless he thinks he's gonna hit you with it. Once PBF opens up and tries to fight in the pocket then he's playing into Cotto's gameplan. Amazing inside info!!!! Now personally I think Cotto vs PBF would be classic with PBF pulling off a close SD and I'm gonna stick to my prediction but hearing this does make me wonder. Oh as for the low blows Zab did mention the fact that the shots slowed him down but Zab never complained after that he just kept on talking about how he should have done this and should have done that......Classic talk man. So I've spoken to Paulie Malanaggi at club "Stereo" and hung out with Luis Collazo at "Show" and now I play ball in the mornings with the great Pedro Serrano :yep
Oh ****, good stuff... So you saw Paulie at Stereo, i was just there 2 weeks ago, ive been to show a while back but its too small for me, but good to know these people go to places that i go to when i bar/club hop!
cotto will own that division. imo, his toughest fights will come from margarito, and possibly clottey. to beat cotto, you have to be willing to commit and know that you will walk through fire. you have to keep cotto in the center of the ring and bang with him. he has already shown that he has great recovery when hurt, and a huge heart. styles make fights. and he has already shown that speed is not his poison
I seriously doubt that, and only because he will have difficulties making weight very soon. Paul has a great workrate but I already see him having trouble with infighters. Paul would do well against most but his power is nothing to rave about. Margo is gonna give him all he can take and more. Paul has all the physical gifts one would want in a superior welter weight let's see how July 14th plays out before jumping on his bandwagon.
I would'nt be surprised if we knew the same people being that your from Uptown and I party and playball with dudes from all over the city. Right now I'm out in Jamaica but I used to live in Spanish Harlem. Collazo is crazy cool mad down to earth and is always willing to talk boxing even when he tipsy like a mutha.
just thought I would bump up a thread from the last page 2125 I think . Read through the comments of a few years ago. I would say 75% of threads or opinions on Eastsideboxing are pure horesh!t by ******s that know little about boxing. Threads that mainly are a waste of time. Can these fools go somewhere else please thank you
