[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Oscar: Two fights in 2008!
Oscar De La Hoya has outlined his future plans in a telephone interview with Sacramento Bee boxing scribe Jim Jenkins. "I would like to fight twice next year, in May and September, opponents to be decided," stated the Golden Boy from Los Angeles. De La Hoya also confirmed his plans to return to welterweight. "I think welterweight would better suit my style," he said. "You have opponents who are bangers, fighters who stay in front of you. I want to leave this sport with fights that people will remember for a long time."

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it.

Either Cotto or Williams beat ODLH at this point.

what's all the hating on oscar for he just gave the so called p4p a run for his money and could have easily taken it with a little more gas 147 was always his best weight he's just been use to fighting bigger guys but now if he stays in shape continues training til next year he could still be an animal he never gets enough credit for as good as he was he was in his prime at such an early age he was taking out all p4p cats in his range early

I wish Oscar would retire. I think the only fight that would interest me would Trinidad at 154, but Tito ain't making 154. Oscar will get outhustled by any of the elites at 147, and that's if he could even make the weight.

sometimes in life when things come so fast and fairly easy it's easy to say what's really left to accomplish and not give it your all maybe that loss can rejuvenate the young scrapper

"I've always done better when I've had to weight drain to have a size advantage over my opponents, so I'm really looking forward to fighting at 147 again. Except against Mayweather."

Yes, 147 (being his best weight class is arguable) where Oscar last made 6 years ago.

And weighing 154, this is how cut Oscar looked.

The first guy he fought who was ranked in the p4p rankings was Pernell Whitaker at 147, BTW.

Deeper? He'll either pick some guys he can beat to finish his career on a winning note, or he'll make the smart business decision and lose to a top guy. Either way, two DLH fights helps solve nothing in the division.

Oscar started at lightweight and made 130 a couple times.....back in 1994. He was always big in those lower weight classes and his body has grown as he's gotten older.

He hasn't made the 147 lb. limit since 2001, and then even, he said he had trouble making the weight.

He was as cut as he's ever been in his last fight, and that was weighing 154 lbs. And I don't think much of it was added on muscle.
