Wenfeng Ge vs. Giemel Abuan Magramo & Jing Xiang vs. Suriyan Satorn RBR

Round 5

Xiang is jabbing into the forehead of Satorn and then leaving his arm extended to pin him in fixed place while toeing his way outside and then at the last second picking a direction to move laterally. Satorn is blasting away full-power at the chest & chin of Xiang with diving rights and big fat splashy hooks with both hands, back arched the whole time, his widow's peak aimed directly into Xiang's abdomen. Huge backfoot right crosses by Xiang behind a light throwaway jab buried into the guard jerk Satorn's neck around grotesquely but he keeps storming the gates and has Xiang cautious with the couple of clipping overhands that have gotten through.

I can definitely see giving Satorn the fifth - in fact even the Sina highlight replay shown in slow motion between rounds was of him landing that overhand right. I thought Xiang edged it overall, though, and I'm generally not in the habit of swinging rounds on the basis of just a hefty punch or two.

 

Round 6

Xiang is spending more time mobilized, feeling the intensifying & crowding pressure from Satorn. The latter is walking onto jab after jab, and only halting in his juggernaut advance when Xiang deigns to drop anchor to line up a right cross, always landing between the challenger's eyes. Satorn is biding his time, grinding, nicking a piece of the body where he can, hoping to wear Xiang down over time, and trusting in his own chin (vis-a-vis Xiang's relative power or lack thereof) until then...

Round 7

Xiang is walking Satorn onto very clean textbook 1-2s now. Satorn is covering up, perhaps feeling the pace and the accumulation of leather rattling his brain around. Xiang giving him no quarter, skipping to his own left and doubling & even tripling up on hooks planted squarely into Satorn's right temple. Satorn explodes suddenly to push Xiang into a corner, SLAMMING down with the right hand with all his might. Xiang ducks, swerves, pointing his knees askew, rising and flurrying hard into Satorn's face. What a war that just broke out!!
