I might have been my countries very best fighter, was a sensation at MSG,until I met an-alltime great, who kod me in one of the best fights ever at MSG. In any other era I might have been a champ. Who am I ?
P.S. I was a fighter in one of the greatest cards in history...

    Kid Chocolate?

Nevermind, he won a world title. Thought it might have been his loss to Canzoneri you were talking about!

Vic, U nailed it ! Pedro Montanez, might have been Puerto Rico's greatest fighter, though never winning a title. He started his career with but one loss in his first 77 fights, splitting with the great Lou Ambers. He had the misfortune to come along when the alltime great Henry Armstrong was in his prime. Armstrong kod Montanez in 1940,in a great slugfest in MSG.:good

Boxrec says Montanez had six losses and four draws before the Armstrong fight.

Pedro also had 4 losses before he lost to Ambers in 1937.

h, I stand corrected:patsch Nevertheless Montanez was a helluva lightweight. Broke even witha prime Lou Ambers who is sorely underated today.:good
