Its in the Tyson documentry but yeah i remember Tyson got floored by his sparring partner in his training leading up to the fight which at the time was major news as nobody came close to beating him.

i understand the long count but for me it's comes down to this: if the referee is gonna take his time, and spends 5 minutes counting to 10, i'm STILL gonna wait til 9 to get up. why would i jump to my feet when i THINK it's 9? i'm gonna take all the recovery time possible. that's what douglas did. **** does he care how much actual time has elapsed? he just cares about the count and getting all the time he can. just cause he DIDN'T get up at the "official" 9 count doesn't mean he COULDN'T have. it was smart of him

Snowell & Jay Bright were a bunch of clowns. I remember Rooney had a quote about Bright that was hilarious I just can't remember it. Their advice in the corner was beyond awful.

No, he wasn't getting beat by all his sparring partners before Douglas, because he was hardly sparring at all. I've heard from a close friend that was part of Tyson's sparring group when he was with Snowell that he logged maybe 10 rounds sparring for Douglas. This might be an exaggeration, but either way, those 10 rounds didn't go as well for Tyson as he liked, so he stopped sparring.

The guy was physically at his absolute peak. Faster, stronger, hit harder than ever, but his mind had gone to boxing's dark side. He no longer had a great trainer, an even moderately good work ethic, or any drive to be great at that time. Nobody knew it, but Mike was quite literally ripe to be destroyed, and a lesser fighter than Buster Douglas probably would have got it done. Mike was undertrained, and had nothing that night but one uppercut.

haha I got it, good one. In any case, in the 'Tyson' documentary he said he had a bad case of gonorrhea during that time.

His knockout was difficult to watch though, he was on all fours fighting off a total KO, doing his best to grab his mouth guard and then he forced himself to stand up to face more pain.

Oliver was doing ok but not really hurting Mike just making Mike work harder than he was used to , because he truly was only in 70% of the shape he should have been in, Greg caught Mike and it was the best thing that could have happened because it launched Mike into doing a bit more work than he was doing up to that point. Page dropped Mike about 6 days to fight time and indeed Greg did make a statement that Tyson was looking down the barrel of a loss if he didn't change his attitude on that trip. Mike has taking his sexual activity into overload on that trip like someone stated and it drained him physically as he didn't honestly rate Douglas's chances of beating him, until that bell rang.. I think he was looking back at his last visit when another overweight challenge was deposed early in Tubbs, Mike was expecting an early night and when the ring ceremony took too long his fire was smouldering less and less by the minute (The award being handed by some dignitaries after the national anthems) He was not warmed up like he was used to and his furious intentions were back in the locker room, Douglas had everything going for him on that afternoon , and Mike was beginning to recognise it.

He looked soft in the ring, not fat, but certainly soft.
