    Setanta went bust.

The Froch fight is on an obscure PPV channel called Primetime, for £15.

It is available to watch online but only from the UK and Ireland.

BBC's website might have radio commentary..... I'm either going to do that or just read the RBR's on the British forum.

    .

Sentanta. Another bunch of ****ing wankers.
Soon after they kicked off, they announced they were showing the Calzaghe V Lacy, or Kessler fights (Can't remember which) I paid the seven bucks an added them to my Austar in a flurry of excitement, & watched Joe smack the **** out of whoever.
2 months later, no more fights.
I'm starting to feel the old thumbs in the back of my neck & a tugging at my belt, so I rings them up.
"What fights have Sentanta got in the pipeline?" I asks.
I could feel the round head tart on the end of the phone recoil in horror.
"None that I know of" she muttered after recovery.
    "Thanks, CYA"
Mmm I thought, a nice little backdoor fragmented PPV (So far it's cost me & everyother boxing tragic/sucker $21) & pissed them off.

Dunno how long it took them to come up with "Sentanta" but "Fookball" would have been more appropriate.:****:****

The telecasting is poor though. The Kessler/Calzaghe fight was shown only via setenta I think and between rounds they would go to an ad break or even worse, just some plain screen with some advertising thing on it and some 80's porno music over the top. You totally lose momentum for the fight, and I can really see why some people would rather pay the $30 and get it on Main Event instead.

Some of their telecasts of the football is poor too. Sometimes theres just the one camera angle and at half time they just turn leave the camera on a blank screen while the commentators go for a smoko.

Setanta in Australia should get on board & start showing some of the lesser fights...someone should there is a def market for it since FOX Sports is neglecting it as always.

I agree totally myself & Leon have been saying for ages i can live with 1-2 live PPV cards a month...but to get more exposure they should show lots of the other Showtime & HBO BAD cards etc.. on at least a Same Day Tape Delay on FOX Sports or Fuel TV or something to increase interest.
I swear their people aint got a clue about boxing & it really shows.

There has to be some multi trillionaire out there somewhere in Australia who loves boxing and wouldn't mind blowing a few mill a year telecasting overseas bouts in Australia for the likes of us to watch, surely!!!!! ;)
Nah I think what is needed is some rivalry to main event. They are the only ones in their field so they can show what they want and charge what they want. If there was a 2nd channel that was showing more fights and some for less, well some healthy competition would only benefit us boxing fans as they would have to compete for prices.

Honestly, which one do you think would have sold more if they went head to head? ME are huge fans of Green and the $ he brings in.
