I think the quality of opponents had something to do with it.

The Canadian titles matches earlier in Chinvalos career were some of the strongest national title fights of modern times with Parker, Durelle and the Cleroux trilogy. When Chinvalo regained the Canadian title totally different story. These were .500 at best level opponents Chinvalo could have kept beating for awhile.

Boxingrec says theres a documentary on the Felstein fight "Still Standing" done by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. So you'd guess they'd have footage of Chinvalos whole run. Just because footage exists doesn't mean its widely available.

Good point regarding level of opposition. Wow, I would absolutely love to see this documentary, thanks! I’ll have to do some research and try and find it.

I find it hard to believe theres no footage of a fight someone saw fit to film a documentary on. That seems kinda backwards.

Promoter owns the rights to the fight, which means the promoter probably said something like ‘sure you can film it, how much are you willing to pay?’ And maybe they couldn’t come to an agreement. Either the promoter wanted too much or the film didn’t have the budget to pay a reasonable price (whatever that might have been).

Just because a film crew is following a boxer around filming him for a documentary doesn’t allow them to film an event someone else owns.

Do you suppose there was more to that documentary, like a full length documentary, or just what we see here in this YouTube video?
