    Nah.

He could easily have stayed down for the count of ten after eating that final series of hooks, but beat it with a couple of seconds to spare. It was Mercante's call to stop the fight.

Mercante didn't stop the fight, Ramos informed him that he had taken enough. Therefore he retired, quit, whatever you want to call it. I'm not castigating him just saying what he did.

OK, I missed the hand gesture the Ramos gave upon rising. I think Mercante probably might have stopped the fight anyway. Still, Ramos could easily have stayed on the canvas, or gone to the mat in the first after eating a colossal hook. He was game for as long as the fight lasted.

Well, at least he didn't turn away completely, waving his hand furiously and hollering "No Mas! No Mas!"

He took a damn sight more punches than I would have ,let's put it that way.

I thought he looked pretty good ,better than I remembered him.
I recollect the build up to the FOTC, Ali was watching the fight with a link man as part of the hype, when Ramos signalled he had had enough Ali said to the interviewer ,"aint that terrible?"

I liked Joe against Ramos, he used his jab and threw both hands to the head and body. I saw Frazier often use uppercuts in infighting but this was the most I had seen him use the right uppercut so well to the head also.

Daniels looked the best I had seen him against Joe for the short time it lasted and like Ramos caught Frazier with a good right uppercut also. He had decent skills for a journeyman.
