Hatton is rated correctly, hes an ATG British fighter but not on the overall world scene.

Calzaghe is overrated to high heaven.

    Remember Ray Oliviera?

The same Oliviera who handed Harris his 1st loss.....the same Oliviera who Hatton ran right through in his WBU reign.

Also if you are happy with Corley, Morua and a Harris who 2 years previous to Witter had been knocked out off Maussa (who let's face it was a very weak Champion) then all power to you.

You also do realise that when Witter went on his long bum KO streak the majority of them was blown up lightweights.....blown up lightweights who weren't even top 100 type fighters.

Then when he eventually stepped up his quality of competition ( top 20 type fighters) he went the full 12 with Ndou (started his career at 130), Kotelnik and Lynes.

    Ndou very good fighter
Kotelnik one of khans best wins
    Lynes solid domestically
Hell if hatton had to have gone the domestic route he would not have got to the PAC and Floyd fights
You see him go life and death with magee you know domestic magee ,
After thaxton he had to get away from the danger men in his own country then tried magee and again it all nearly came apart
Hatton never proved his was the best fighter in his country but claimed it
And the flies to sh it argument this is boxing where the best should prove them selves
    Khan done the same
    The danger was to great

Magee was better than Lynes and was top tier in the country after beating Neary.

Ndou was a tough gate keeper top 10/15 type fighter who lost everytime he faced a top tier fighter. He had lost 7 times prior to Witter.

As for Kotelnik he was solid....I rate him, I don't see what point you are trying to prove.

I said Witters "power" disappeared once he stepped above African goat herder level. I never said any of the above fighters were bad but they certainly are not "killers" either.

Who where these "danger men" he had to get away from in the British rankings?

I've just looked and Witter was fighting Alan Bosworth in '02 when Hatton fought Magee....Witter then went on his run of beating blown up African lightweights......so even as far back then after Witter disgraced himself against Judah when Hatton was beating the top fighter in Britain Witter was still facing a British journeyman.

I'd take what Hatton did career wise as to what Witter did.

All said and done they were both quality fighters. I admire their toughness and tenacity and to some degree their records speak for themselves. I also want to go on record to make it clear that we in the Ajose Olusegun camp though we always wanted and fancied his chances with Hatton, we also rated Hatton extremely highly. Apart from his tenacity and toughness Hatton was a skilled operator with good footwork. Hatton was not quite Duran but then again quite frankly who is! Hatton’s record indicates he was a great fighter at 140 pounds. The Pacquiao knockout was devastating yes but his record at 140 pounds prior to that was fantastic. I remember my friend the late James Oyebola and I discussing Hatton in the gym during a sparring session and James waxing lyrical about Hatton’s willingness to bring the heat. Very courageous fighter. Manchester should rightly be proud of one of its finest sons. Personally while I think Witter would give Hatton some problems I always felt Hatton would defeat Witter and break his will.

At least Hatton took on the best available and dared to be great. He could have quite easily not gone after Mayweather and Pacquiao, stayed in his comfort zone and no doubt surpassed Calzaghe's 46-0. Yeah, he came up short but compare and contrast that to Calzaghe's career and in those first rounds against Hopkins and Jones, we got a glimpse of what would have happened to Calzaghe had he done what Hatton did while those guys were still at the peak of their powers.

    I didn't.

    1. When Witter finally won his title Hatton was contesting a title in his second weight against Collazo in '06.

    2. In 2007 Witter fought Morua and Harris....Hatton fought Urango, JLC and Mayweather.

Also Hatton fought 3 times in the US iirc...everything sold out....can the same be said for Witter who couldn't sell our a sports hall.

Now if you honestly think Hatton avoided Witter to fight the 3 guys he fought then you need your head tested and I actually have answered the questions several times round now.

Also as stated before Witter was as welcome on US TV as herpes on a *****.

Not Hatton's fault Witter bottled it against Judah.

Bottled it at 8 days notice bottling it would be not taking the fight or claiming insufficient time
Go find any of the above from witter but I can show you many times where hatton avoids witter claims the fights made on national TV by the way claiming its in his contract
Wicky never had the famous belt of well the wbc why and a British title why lol
    Now selling tickets
Neither can fury you waiting on his comeback
