You mean against Hearns isn't it Scar? Sure you do and I agree... He still beat the guy ( Iran Barkley) who KTFO Hearns in 3 at MW and won a decision 4 the WBA LHWT title ( also knocked him down in that fight early). Listen to what Scar says, people, read and pay attention if you can and want of course.
He became more reliant upon clinching and mauling as he moved up in class, but he certainly wasn't devoid of skill. He doubled and tripled up on the hook, timed his right hand quite well, flashed a pretty good jab every now and then, and used good footwork to close the distance on virtually every opponent he faced. He gets slagged for the mauling, but he had some other weapons at his disposal, that's for sure.
I think you meant Duran against Hearns, so I will address, as such. Duran was a blown-up LW fighting at JMW and Hearns was far, far superior to Pac in every conceivable way other than Chin. Hatton was fighting a blown-up flyweight and he did nothing other than walk in a straight line towards him and get Chinned in savage fashion. The circumstances were completely different and the results will be viewed far differently. Hatton was a British-level fighter who made his living by utilizing boring, dirty rough housing tactics and when he stepped up in competition he got brutally and embarrassingly KOed. I will give him credit for being a boon to Boxing and to his fans for being some of the most supportive in the sport, but a great fighter he was not.
saw him live too...unfortunately he didnt make it 6 minutes and was gasping for breath on his back lol....his fans were awesome all weekend though...ill never forget walking through the mgm sportsbook at 730 am and seeing all his fans drinking beers watching soccer watching the kostya fight was also fun to watch
No,what history will remember is that Hatton was one of the dirtiest fighters of this generation and that his fanatical fans completely ignored that fact.Duran lost to Duran? And as far as Duran "being a bigger bum" because of the manner in which he lost to Hearns, how so?When he lost to Tommy,he was at 154,19 pounds above his natural weight, was fighting in about his 75th fight at 31 or 32 years old.And would you take Pac to beat Tommy, lol? When Hatton fought Pac,it was at 140,Hattons natural weight, was about Hatton's 43rd or so fight and Hatton and Pac were both around 30.Btw,head to head and prime for prime,Duran stops Hatton in about 8 or 9 as Duran does EVERYTHING better than Hatton, including fighting dirty.
I watch the Tsyzu fight and found it to be bull****.Hatton put on a clinic on how to fight dirty and "referee" Dave Parriss put on a clinic on how to be incompetent and completely biased.
:goodGreat post Double M:goodBy the way, glass jaws exist in boxing. It's irrefutable!Your avatar says it all.
