See, this is where we depart.

I'm not a man who bull****s, I'm a man who always states facts and I back it up with more facts.

    Here

    http://tcdn05.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/11/30/11/canelo-alvarez-willing-drop-150-lbs-floyd-fight

    It's irrefutable, actually.

This isnt really news, Floyd has always said this, he has treated it like a business and not a sport for a large portion of his career. He has played dirty, made sure all the little advantages fall in his court and has been very careful about who he fought and when he fought them.

But as much as i prefer those Athletes that just want to play the best, face the best or fight the best to just be the very best I think Floyd has pretty much done that without trying to do it.

He has fought near enough everybody, very rarely looked in any sort of trouble, won a boatload of titles and belts and become a global superstar of the sport. Many of his opponants were not in their prime and some were out of their natural weight class but other than Pacquiao who has declined alot and was injured id say none of them were shot, alot of them with plenty of miles under the hood.

Date of that article : 11/30/2011

Date of Floyd vs Cotto : 5/5/2012

Date of Floyd vs Canelo : 9/14/2013

Context .. such a funny thing isn’t it?

That article was before the buildup to Floyd Cotto where Floyd stressed how important it was that Cotto be at his most comfortable weight, how he don’t drain fighters like Pac did to Cotto.

The quote from 2011 where Canelo apparently said he is willing to do a 150 catchweight to fight Floyd doesn’t acquit Floyd of his dishonesty about who needed the catchweight. Obviously Floyd went into the Canelo negotiations with a 150 catchweight in mind, holding that quote from 2011 as “proof” that Canelo wants a catchweight. Floyd and TMT used that quote from 2011 to try to pin the catchweight on Canelo, but that train of thought doesn’t make any sense because with Floyd being the smaller guy obviously any catchweight below 154 would benefit him and hurt Canelo.

Canelo didn't say he wanted a catchweight, and he made it clear in 2013 that Floyd wouldn't fight him unless it was at a catchweight below 154. That’s on Floyd. Floyd and TMT used this 2011 quote as the basis for demanding a catchweight, trying to mislead the public about who wanted the catchweight. We all know Floyd wanted the catchweight, he was obviously terrified of Canelo Alvarez’s size and power and he tried to weaken Canelo. Floyd was terrified of losing his OH to Canelo.

You can't deny that Floyd did to Canelo what he criticized Pac for doing to Cotto, and still considered Cotto an undefeated fighter because of it. You can’t say Floyd beat Canelo at his optimum weight when clearly Canelo's optimum weight is 154 : the normal weight limit for LMW which Canelo had been happily defending his title at for years without ever doing a catchweight prior to Floyd. In 2013, Floyd and Canelo both held a 154-lb title, making the catchweight even more absurd by then.

By Floyd beating Cotto in 2012 at 154 and stressing how bad catchweights are, Floyd went against his own principles and attempted to drain Canelo to 150 but settled at 152. I said here many times that I agreed with what Floyd said about catchweights back in 2012 before fighting Cotto. I liked that guy Floyd when he said that stuff back in 2012. Canelo’s 2011 quote or not, Floyd still tried to drain Canelo after criticizing Pac for doing that to Cotto. That’s on Floyd. Floyd did that, and in doing so he lost a lot of fans and respect because he went against what appeared to be his core principles about catchweights and about truly being TBE and truly being the best. If Floyd was really TBE, he wouldn’t have needed a catchweight to beat Canelo. He would have just fought the main straight up at 154 and win lose or draw he would have gotten mad props.

NO he didn't, Canelo still made the weight fine and he had no problems with it whatsoever. In fact, I think Mayweather gave him more than what he asked for. That's how I see it.

That win will turn into an ATG level win, Canelo just keeps winning now. it's amazing.

That isn't a matter of triangle theory.

Styles make fights within roughly the same tier of class, and Mosley didn't just beat Margarito; he comprehensively outclassed him (and was then shown immediately thereafter not to be in Mayweather's class in all but one round)

Immediately after?:patsch Mosley was off 18 months between the Margarito and Mayweather fights. Plus USADA made sure he couldn't cheat against Floyd. Put a fork in him! :patsch

so if the divisiom was red hot how did it all of a sudden die off a year later then? most fighters dont even fight 2 or three times in said time. what happened was that floyd retired so everyone accused him of ducking beasts but when he came back all of a sudden theyre last it

Right.. That's like saying if Oscar, Maidana, and Castillo did beat Floyd, it wasn't in his prime and best weight so it doesn't count...lol
