Were Primo Carnera's Fights Works?

It was certainly never proven that any of his fights were fixed. Even the suspensions against him based on him engaging on fixed fights were bogus.

Also, Carnera's former Manager Leon See, who was disgruntled after Carnera fired him did everything in his power to sling mud on Carnera's name and reputation such as saying many of his fights were rigged by himself, but very few publications took See seriously, since See sued many of the athletic commissions years before for making similar claims about Carnera.

Carnera was admittedly matched soft when he first came to America by Duffy to get experience and was allowed to gradually develop, which is usually the case for any successful fighter.
