Or we can make a comparison using lower weight classes. The more a fighter moves up in weight, the less effective he becomes for every weight class that he crosses.

Take Roberto Duran. At 135 pounds he was one of the greatest fighters ever competing at that weight. At 160 he was very good, but lost so much of the spark. He became very beatable. At 175 he would have probably gotten murdered.

So a guy who is arguably the greatest of all time at his own weight, becomes very beatable once he moves up 25 pounds north and starts fighting natural 160 pounders. Against Hagler he simply didn't have the strength and power to take the fight to him the way he usually would despite weighing about the same as him, and his conditioning failed him in the later rounds by his own admission.

The same argument can be applied to heavyweights. If a guy is 210 pounds when fit (for example 10% body fat) and moves up 30 pounds, he will not magically become as effective physically as Klitschko, who carries 240 pounds while maintaining an impressive level of fitness.

Most of his added weight was certainly quite functional for his opponents.

What about someone functional like Andy Ruiz?

Andy Ruiz would probably be just as effective if he was 30 pounds lighter. IMO.

Fair point, but 234-238 is plenty big for a man Cleveland Williams's height who fights 12 rounders.

It only takes one punch especially in the heavyweight division

Interesting, about Rahman again, he weighed 234 and 238 in his fights with Lewis and was not ripped but always been a very bulky guy which gives the impression he's bigger than he is, now I'm not saying he's big but he's not bigger than Wladimir Klitschko and MMA fighter Stipe Miocic who I shared pictures of in the first page had more lean muscle mass when he weighed the same weights that Rahman weighed on average (Anywhere from 234-238)

As for the Haye/Chisora example this is a good point, for example I'm only 64-65kg and I train in BJJ a lot and there's a big difference between someone whose heavy and someone who is strong just like there's a difference between body fat and body mass. The three strongest guys in my gym when it comes to getting someone off of them are 91-96kg of muscle and two of them are not that skilled yet there's guys who also weigh 110-135kg and they are very heavy but don't have the strength like the three others because all that mass they have is useless.

Wladimir, Vitali, Lewis and Joshua are all lean giants that could probably get to 265 pounds of lean muscle similar to a guy like UFC fighter Francis Ngannou.
