I guess the only way to find out is to see if they'll respond to this thread. Has the initial shock of fedor's loss faded yet ? ... i personally think the hardest thing we have to deal with is dana's bull****..and of course, every clueless wwe fans who think they know it all even though they've only been following the sport ever since Lesnar arrived in the ufc... and even worse...the arrogant & clueless Tuf fans...the ones who religiously listen to every ****ing bull**** propaganda,lies..that ufc's ex-aerobics instructor has to say on the sport... But apart from that , i've moved on & the way this loss happened wasn't really shocking. a huge judgemental error on emelianenko's part...It's a shame but not as bad as i thought it would be.
Although Fedor is my favorite fighter and probably will remain so for a long time, he is just part of the MMA I have interest in. Fedor was a bit too careless in that fight, and it will not make any of his future fights less enjoyable. If a fighter have no chance of being beat then there is no point in watching a fight when you already know the outcome. This is what makes the sports enjoyable and exciting, because anything can happen and we get the see the toughness and preserverance of these great martial artists. I think Fedor has what it takes to come back and further his greatness, the man is not broken, just slightly fractured and we know that fractures that is treated well can recover and become stronger than ever. Fedor handled his lost as well as could be, now we just have to wait to see if he recover himself in a rematch.
I actually think this loss could be very good for fedor, finally he has all that pressure off his shoulders of having to keep up this aura of being this unbeatable fighting god who is invincible every time he fights, now he can come back even stronger, have his rematch against werdum, fight overeem then possibly go to ufc if he wants to continue and not retire, yeah he lost so what he's had like 35 fights you're bound to lose one, he lost by being careless and jumping into werdum's guard, I bet he gets tapped out every day in training, gsp losing to serra was the best thing that ever happened to him (even though it made him boring) as a fighter, tyson lost, ali lost, sugar ray robinson lost, doesn't mean the aren't all time greats. fedor will be back better than ever.
Agreed its like a "football" fan refusing to watch football when there favorite team doesnt make the playoffs. I mean how the hell do you become a fan of the sport for only one fighter ? These guys only fight twice a year so apparently they watch MMA 2x a year. Yeah thats a fan alright.
mma will let guys like sobral win over lawler because sobral threw some kicks... while lawler was out there looking like a boxer... not good for the sport so.... they will give it to sobral that was a robbery
You know, Fedor's loss did'nt bother me like I thought it would. He lost to a very skilled humble man. Also a man willing to give Fedor another shot. I will always love MMA, I just want a real choice other than the UFC. And if that's all I have, I'll pass. But once Fedor is gone for good, I can honestly say my interest will plummet. There is nobody else in MMA that has what he has. A long history of dominance, and also a genuine humble caring human being. I know someone might come along but there will never be another Fedor. Even if there was chances are they will be in the UFC and Dana won't let them be humble. He makes people talk **** and hype fights to the max. He is sleeze.
Why pass? Salary issues? Either way.. I'm not passing up a good match or FOTY if it's in the UFC. I don't take submission losses of my favorites as some of you but then again, I'm not the biggest Fedor fan. The man got caught and it's much different when it happens in the opening seconds and you walk away bruise free. I mean, for crying out loud, Fedor didn't even take a punch. Promoters like Don King and Dana White may be bad for their sport but it won't keep me from watching a good boxing or UFC match whether it be ppv or cable tv. I can understand how one would not want to buy a UFC ppv.
That's pretty much it. I just can't pay Dana White any money. He strikes me as a man who says when the cameras aren't rolling "these ****ing people are so stupid, I tell them what to think and they do it". I seriously feel that he has no love for mma, it is just a cash cow and if he could make more selling pencils, he would. P.S- I will be tuned in saturday night for lesnar/carwin. But I'm not paying a dime.
What ***gots said this? Seriously, name one poster who cried about being done with MMA because ****ing Fedor lost, so I can ridicule them.
I Agree. In my first post I felt a little different but you have definently struck a nerve. Dana's men wouldn't be getting paid peanuts if he truly gave a **** about his fighters.. It does appear to be nothing more than a cash grab for the owner. I would say the UFC has no more than 50-60 fighters. I don't know how well the company is doing but when I hear of issues with sponsors and such it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I too will be watching this Saturday.. But my bro and Dad will probably split the bill :good
