All 90`s heavies would of had fits trying to beat Schmeling, they were all inferior defensively except Vitali, who was starting to peak.

Lopez, Johnson and Chavez were extremely good but the rest were more gifted in terms of athletism than skills or smarts compared to today`s elite fighters, none of them would be the Top P4P fighter right now.

An older Chavez and Pea would be destroyed by today`s welter`s even Loma would have beaten them at welter.

Hopkins and Tyzu are better than the others on this list, Mosley hand speed was awesome but things started going wrong for him, I feel the heavyweight scene was overrated Holy had fantastic moments in the second fight wit Bowe but made a lot of defensive mistakes and the three others were worse defensively, Tyson was all over the place with out Rooney.

Not welter, Heavy is shaping up nice, cruiser is far stronger.

You’re missing the vast majority of the boxing then.

The latter part of the decade was when I lost interest in the sport.

So, the instant I turned off the TV it began to go south and I became disapproving and judgy.

Schmeling was able to evade most of Louis`s jabs in their first bout, by leaning over to his right off the centre line with his right glove covering his chin, Lewis was outjabbed by Bruno and Mercer and neither man could jab as well as Louis could, Bowe was very easy to hit and Holy while being better defensively was still easier to hit than Schmeling, Tyson was wide open in his 90`s bouts.

So you don’t think Pernell Whitaker and James Toney had the skills and smarts of today’s fighters?

What on earth are you talking about Mark?

Your threads seem to get stranger every week.

The 90's were a great decade for the sport.

It doesn't need explaining does it.

You told me that you've been watching the sport for 38 years since 1980. Which means that if you're telling the truth you lived through the 90's era.

I don't know how you can even ask this question.

Just think about how many great fighters fought through the decade.

    Just go through the divisions.

    Start at HW.

You're either trolling or you're bored out of your mind.

The 90's is classed as one of the strongest eras in boxing. Stronger than what it is currently.

I don't think this Mark Ant character is all there tbh.

90's was great for talent and larger than life personalities, much superior to now, it's biggest drawback were too many big fights didn't happen due to promoters and networks.
