Well, you saw the scorecards for Kovalev-Ward and Canelo-GGG and a number of other dodgy results.

    Are you surprised ?

Larry merchant referred to the Kov Ward result as 'home cooking.'

That said, Wilder did silence some of his critics (though whether or not they shut up is another matter).

The "glass jaw" mob have been rebutted. Wilder demonstrated considerable fortitude and whiskers in surviving the seventh round. A better finisher who had him in that state would probably have put him away there, but he did survive the onslaught of a hard-punching KO artist.

Skill wise, Deontay still looked almost comical, but he got the job done and earned legitimate entry into the top echelons of the HW division, where many on here doubted he belonged.

There was too much money involved not to give Wilder every chance to win..

Slow news day when anyone is speculating about score sheets when a fight doesn't even go the distance.

He is thats true... Only 10 more fights to go... Hopefully he keeps the competition up and he has surpassed Flyod for sure...

Actually do we even say 50-0 for Floyd that last one was a joke fighting a novice like that...

How do you justify them taking away Ortiz’s chance to finish a very hurt Wilder?

That was a blatant braking of the rules. It allowed Wilder another 20 seconds to recover.

Anyone knows, if a fighter is to be checked by a doctor, that is to be done between rounds.

Ortiz was clearly cheated out of the chance to finish his hurt opponent

Blatant cheating. Even the Showyime commentators said “you can’t do that-he’s getting another 20 seconds to recover!”

Ortiz’s team should’ve been throwing a protesting fit over that.

I watched the fight on YouTube tonight...couldn't stream it on Saturday.
I was taking part in the fight comments on here and I saw where most people had Ortiz up 4-0 after four rounds.

You guys need to rewatch the fight. I never score live fights as it takes away from my enjoyment of the live fight, but I scored the first 6 rounds today.
1-3. All 10-9 Wilder. He was controlling the fight, or the "geography " as Atlas says, with his jab. He was landing jabs to the head and body of Ortiz constantly while his movement kept him away from big punches. Ortiz did land some meaningful punches but they were few and far between.
    4. 9-9. Very close round...i could not pick a winner.
    5. 10-9 Ortiz. He finally started to connect with some big punches and clearly won the round.
    6. 10-9 Wilder. Despite the knockdown I didn't score it 10-8 because Ortiz won about 2 1/2 minutes of the round.

I didn't score 7 8 9 because it was becoming a slugfest. Even if Ortiz wins all three round 10 would have been a 10-8 Wilder round.

The offical scorecards were correct and just.

    Horrible scorecards. Definitely corruption there.

The ref gave a convenient timeout that looks sketchy for sure as well but from unheard of or giving him "the full five minutes" for no reason.

Haymon owned the judges and the referee. I had Ortiz winning every round except two, so did Steve Farhood, boxing is corrupt! Wilder refused to fight Whyte for $4,000,000, yet he instead fought a 50 year old Ortiz for far less! Why? Because Haymon did not control Whyte, just like VADA cleared Povetkin, yet Haymon's WBC still refused to allow Povetkin to fight him..............yes, Wilder was allowed to hit behind the head, threw Ortiz down on the canvas hard, no warning, and the Haymon referee gave Wilder extra time to recover, even the commentators mentioned it.................can't wait for Joshua to knock Wilder out!
