As good as they were, for their time, if they'd come of age in the 90 s.. Well it wouldn't have being fun for em.
Yeah, it's not like Buster Douglas, Micahel Moorer, an ancient Foreman, and Shannon Briggs were ever lineal in the 90s.
Is one of the reasons for the domination of the Klitschko brothers that a large number of people decide for MMA (currently the sport in the greatest expansion, if not that, then currently martial arts in the greatest expansion)?
A lot of those guys tried boxing and didn’t make it very far. Money still talks. Money=championship boxing
That, and it's not the same skillset. Our full contact karate guys (and the Thai kickboxers) occasionally won boxing belts, but even in striking, it's two different sports. Far moreso when you add the other stuff. Might as well ask why Alexander Karelin wasn't a boxer.
I didn't mean people who are already training in MMA, so they tried their hand at boxing (like Conor McGregor for example), but people who might have trained in boxing if MMA wasn't in great expansion. I agree that these are different sports that require different skills. Fedor Emelianenko stated that it is a pity that Alexander Karelin did not practice MMA.
Anderson Silva, Spong, Nate Díaz, and McGregor didn’t look close to world class as boxers even though they were strikers (and they’ve all boxed). I kind of feel like these guys find their sport according to their aptitude.
How many ring magazine contenders did they beat, combined? Vitaly has eights wins, Wlad even more. Could be 20+. That is a lot of ranked opponents.
Not all paths went through Lewis and Lewis was pretty flawed until Steward got him, just like w Wlad. Vitali and Wlad under Steward would be very competitive if not winners.
You mean Vit, who lost to old Lennox?? Would that fight be different if Steward had being in Vit corner?
