Were there any middleweight champs down the years that Floyd Mayweather could have beaten?

I think you should be asking Shaant, who COULDN'T Mayweather beat. With their rudimentary skills and 15 rd experience, coupled w/ their hundreds of fights, these old time turkeys would be spanked by TBE! It would be like Terrible Ted said, "Yank me, crank me, just don't wake up and thank me."
The only 1 middleweight in history Mar54antSaad with a chance and only because of his completely unique and different style would be Dwight "Tiger" Walker. I feel Dwight may even stop Money May early. What do you think Mark54 with yr vasst experience of Walkers chances?
Btw another longshot w/ a chance is Billy Douglas. Forever aggressive smothering offense.

I believe he would beat a lot of “champs” as in belt holders during the fractured titles era....I also think he would beat quite a few of those from the same day weigh in era.

Floyd is not well loved (understatement) on this forum, so I would expect most will not give him much of s shot.

I would pick him over the SRL that beat Hagler (and maybe Hagler of that night, but not the best version of Hagler). I think he could beat Sergio under that criteria....I would pick him to beat Julian Jackson. And many strap holders...I would pick him over MW Duran (alert the duramaniacs). I think he would be a tough out for many pre day befor weigh in types like Joey Giardello ( where did my Philly bias go), and 50/50 with a good many of them.

In terms of potential and ability, on his best night with a 157 catchweight like the OP stipulated, Floyd would have the skills to beat the men you listed in their deteriorated states: the problem? A post-140 Floyd would never sign to fight them.

Armstrong beat Garcia at welter.....and drew with him at MW....so it's possible that Floyd wins that fight with CG.

He would've beaten Martinez. He probably should've taken that fight.

If "down the years" means from the very beginning - then we can start with Nonpareil Dempsey. Hard to imagine FM not beating him!

Really you don't see Hagler, Monzon or Robinson beating Mayweather.

I think Hearns, Jones, McClellan and Jackson all KO Mayweather

You`re right I know nothing about Walker, I was just angry at the thread that inspired my crappy thread.

The first hard shot that Jackson would land would take Floyd out but he would miss more than Canelo did who was a lot better than Jackson at 154, Canelo would destroy Floyd at 160 now though, he has improved vastly as has his punching technique.

Yes from the very start and thanks for justifying my odd thread with really old time fighters.

Would Floyd have to do a lot of weight training to make middle though? He`s only 5,8.
