Were there or are there any lightweights other than Duran that could win a world 160 title?

Probably a good addition or replacement question would have been what lightweight champ could have beaten Barkley Mark.

It wouldn't be easy for any lightweight to do. I was happy Duran won against Barkley, as was everyone, but I didn't think he won.

Some of the official scorecards in that fight were as bad as Julie Lederman's the other night. I think one judge gave Duran 10 points in 10 of the 12 rounds (rolls eyes). People were just shocked Barkley wasn't blowing him out, so they were giving Duran any round that was competitive. Even Gil Clancy fell into that trap. Bernstein and Clancy had Barkley way up. After the tenth, Al said he thought Duran needed a knockout to win. When Duran scored a knockdown, Clancy said that might be a "three point round! (10-7)

Why on earth would it be a 10-7 round, Gil? (LOL). Then Duran didn't even win the last round.

They just all wanted Duran to win. I had Barkley winning a close one. I thought Nunn beat Barkley much more convincingly, and that was much closer on the official cards than the Duran cards.

I thought Mayweather beat Cotto and Alvarez much easier than Duran "defeated" Barkley, and I was rooting for Cotto and Alvarez and Duran.

Mayweather struggled a bit v Cotto and wasn`t happy with his performance and his face was a mess wheeas Duran was unmarked against Barkley who knocked out a lot of middles, Cotto stopped a fighter called Geale at middle, but he was hardley Tommy Hearns, Barkley was stronger than Cotto at 160 who stopped Geale in a catchweight fight at 157lbs, Cotto only weighe slightly over 153lbs v Geale, Barkley was naturally bigger fighter than Cotto, Barkley had a reach of 74 inches, Cotto had a reach of 67 inches, Nunn landed far less shots on Barkley than Duran did and never came close to flooring him.

Nunn got nailed flush by Barkley more that Duran did, he was very careless, Duran`s head movement was far better and he slipped more shots v Barkley.

I thought Duran lost to Barkley. And I think Mayweather is another lightweight who could win a middleweight title, since he beat the last two men to hold the Ring middleweight title.
