Were Toney's best performances at mw better than B-Hop's at mw or Calzaghe's at smw?

    Iceferg:

He came, he saw, he misunderstood, he accused, he was proven wrong, he accused again, he was proven wrong again, he still misunderstood, he lied, he was caught out, he got embarrassed, he still misunderstood, he disappeared.

A truly shocking attempt at contributing to a thread, in pretty much every way. Glad someone else noticed this.

his best performances? so your question is: "when toney looked good...did he look better than b-hop & calzaghe when they looked good?" :patsch

well...maybe. that's all down to opinion on what "best performance" means (nunn is not really a "great performance" by toney imo...he was getting schooled & pulled it out of the bag...but definitions...opinions...may differ...so whatever...altho let's not pretend nunn got "lacy'd" :-D ) & also opinion of which opponents are strongest (are a draw & a disputed win over 35/36 year old mike mccullum really that much better than a decisive win over 31 year old eubank? many would argue...especially as not everyone shares your opinion that both were "clear" wins for toney). but whatever...it comes down to subjective opinions...it would be a pointless argument.

no. you are an absolute ****** if you think this.

i have never seen b-hop or calzaghe look as **** against a bum as toney did when he was clearly beaten by tiberi (a result you aren't eager to change to prove a point unlike toney/mccallum 1 or b-hop/taylor). in fact; toney looked like crap more times during his relatively short run as 160 champ than b-hop & clazaghe did during their entire reigns. which you should take into account when you make a ridiculous statement like the one you made there. :-D

Basically, I agree with the thread-starters post. Especially his anaylisis of the Toney-Nunn and Toney-McCallum fights.

While I think that Hopkins has had the better performances at MW, I think Toney holds the best win (Michael Nunn).

What do people consider M Nunns 5 best victories before losing to Toney and M Nunns 3 best victories after. It doesnt have to be 5 and 3 best but just what you think.
I would say before fighting Toney, -
    S Kalambay
    F Tate
would have been 2 noted victories

Actually if it is based on performance, I think BHop TKO12 Trinidad > Toney TKO11 Nunn.

But the win Toney TKO11 Nunn is a better win than Hopkins TKO12 Trinidad.

Nunn was the main man, respected P4P and also hometown favorite. Also a better fighter at MW than Trinidad was.

But MD's and SD's that Toney picked up against McCallum and Johnson dont show the full story, technically Toney fought some great fights and performed well in them fights.

I can agree with Toney's best wins at MW are better than Hopkins and Calzaghe's at MW and SMW.

Wow. I am now actually, truly dumber having read this thread.

Agree with the OP though, even though a number of people somehow clearly don't understand it.
