The usual shite, which im almost sure nearly ever esb poster has experienced.

 

A drunken guy overheard me talking about Boxing in a pub. He staggered over, and said 'You know who is the best fighter in the world?'

'Who?', I hesitantly asked, expecting the usual answer of Tyson.

'Sharmba Mitchell!' he slurred and staggered off.

This was the weekend after Mitchell had been floored 4 times in 3 rounds fighting Kostya Tszyu.

 

You can't expect everyone to be a boxing anorak. I've come across very few people whose knowledge went past Hatton and Tyson.

I was talkıng to a frıend of mıne ın the buıld up to Hatton Malınnagı and thıs total no ıt all butted ın sayıng Hatton would get knocked out ın the fırst round AGAIN. I was amazed by thıs tryıng to explaın Hatton had never been stopped ın the fırst round but he was addıment Hatton had been KTFO ın 1 round so ı turned away refusıng to argue about ıt. It was only a few mınutes later ı realısed hed been talkıng about Amır Khan

I had something similar, but based on the fact that if Mayweather can do it, then Malignaggi definitely could. He was well and truly convinced Malignaggi was knocking Hatton out.

 

The Mayweather - Hatton build up did throw a few people off course. I'd said a Floyd UD since the fight had been announced (i really did'nt think he'd of stopped Hatton), but people i know got carried away with the SkySports build up and the 24/7's

 

I've referred to this lad I went to college quite a few times before, but his amateurish attempts to fit in with me and my mate when we talked boxing were nothing short of pathetic:

Me- "Who's the greatest fighter of all time?"
Twat- "Sugar Ray Johnson"

Twat- "Who would win in a fight between Mayweather and Ali back in the day?"
Me- "That's impossible, there is a huge difference in weight."
Twat- "So?"

We also told him about Hagler-Hearns and he then was going on about what a great fight it was and what happened, it became apparent in about 5 seconds that he had never seen it.

The lad was a total bull**** artist in every walk of life, apparently he was ripping the **** out of some Chinese fella and he found out a couple of weeks later that it was a Triad boss. Needless to say I was overjoyed when I found out that he hadn't got the grades to come back for the 2nd year. :happy

 

I no its not aout boxing but i guy last night told me that Benni McCarthy was a better all footballer than Fernando Torres. Im a west ham fan and even i couldnt stop laughing!

 

Reminds me of the Newcastle fans I know who think that Darren Bent is the only Sunderland player who would get into their current team. :nut
