skill? Other fighters are praised for using their talents to not take punishment. It's a typical ESB double standard. He boxed Sultan and took a landslide ud. If it was some other fighters who are slick fighters it would be called awesome.

He's a 6'7 guy with a reputation as a power puncher and gets a lot of hype, especially amongst his ESB fans. No-one watches him for his defensive displays.

Is it really any wonder at all some people are pissed off?

Agree or not, I can understand why.

Its because he is expected to brutally KO everyone, from now on. They want to see him pull a Brock on each and every opponent, and when he merely wins a dominating decision win, is seen as not impressive enough, cause Wlad is now held to such high standards. He can't merely win a decision, he has to show, in each and every fight, the kind of destructive power that he is known for.

This reaction to another good win just shows how fickle and shallow alot of fans can be.

A dominating win is a dominating win. He now has two titles, and has gotten the unification ball rolling, after 8 plus years. That is all I am concerned with.

He was supposed to knockout midget Sultan in less than 6 according to many or most around here. Should we give him praise for letting his hands go a bit after round 4 ( With Manny Steward sayin there was no need to throw the right hands before round 4)?

You are right about people turning in for a Wlad defensive show. That does show his diversity as a fighter. I would have loved to see him ko Iggy but it didn't happen. Big deal. People always use the "styles make fights" saying to justify what happens in the ring. It was the same last night. Iggy was leaning back and playing defense. The fight doesn't warrant the hatred.

    Exactly.

This is a huge mountain of a man in his prime with all the physical advantages over his opponent. Plus he is suppose to be representing the heavyweight division, people expect a lot more from him, take this as a compliment.

Exactly. I guess you can find the truth in the criticism. If he wasn't the "man" in everyones eyes then he wouldn't be bashed this way. I am happy that we are one step closer to a having a undisputed champ.

It isnt because Wlad didnt KO Ibgragimov. They were scared of any contact it would seem or they were like friends in there that dont want to hurt each other.

But both men just stared at each other for half the round.

Then all Wlad did is paw with his jab, slap Ibgragimovs so called measuring Jab down and an ocassional one stiff jab. Sometimes, Ibragimov threw a wild looping left that could be seen from miles and Wlad would move back in reaction to it. Now repeat this for 12 rounds.

Do you have denfensive master piece on display?

i dont think anyone here even takes toney seriously anymore.

you are just being paranoid, all defensive fighters get criticized, not just wlad.

It looked to me like Wlad was too afraid to let his hand's go, In case he got caught. Maybe he was having flashback's of his fight with sanders?

I didn't watch the fight, glad as well, as 12 landed punches to 8 landed punches per round average means it was a stinker.

Because it's not defence it just no offence. He's not standing in the pocket like Sweet Pea or Toney he's just staying away and jabbing like Cory Spinks. But Cory Spinks actually has an excuse he has no power and a sub par offence Wlad is an offence force and is bigger then most of the people in the division there is no reason for him to fight like that except fear. Wether it's Steward's or Wlad's. But in Wlad's defence I think it's more Steward's doing because you heard him in the early rounds telling Wlad to just jab and stay away and wait for Ibragimov to slow down. Then come the late rounds when Steward was telling him to go after him he didn't.

Toney stands right in front of his opponent with no fear of whats in front of him. And Toney threw more punches in 2 rounds with Sam Peter then Wlad did in his two fights with Ibragimov and Brock.
